Picked up Gretsch Catalina Club jazz set and some K Constantinople rides. Man, the catalina are an insane deal for the money. For a little bop set to mess around on they are perfect. The K's sound amazing. I played and listened to a bunch of Istanbul and Bosphorus cymbals but to me the constantinopl...

One thing I did for the first time recently was had a single global reverb bus for a mix with no pre-delay, and then I set up different pre-delay busses feeding the reverb bus and fed different parts to the pre-delay busses depending on how far away from the listener I wanted each part to sound. Co...

Deltalab Effectron 1024 II amazing shape with foot pedal
Effectron 1024 II This baby works perfectly and cosmetically lookes great with only some standard rack rash on the ears. I have had a bunch of these and this was my best but I am finally moving on. Amazing delay and I will throw in a foot pedal to control the infinite delay feature. $140 - Shipped ...

This is probably not what you are looking for but couldn't you record a track of you clicking a pair of drum sticks instead of tapping and then use Beat Detective on that? Nothing but transients and you have "tapped" it in. You could probably do the same thing with midi. Just record midi notes from ...

A good friend of mine bought it and we are going to record at least one song. I doubt we will even submit it, but we just want to do it for the fun of it. I think its a cool idea. From what I have read it does seem like a genuine move and not necessarily a calculated one. My friend who has been goin...

Well I hope this doesn't come off sounding like an ad or something but I have used Old Colony Mastering for two albums so far. I was super happy with the results and the cost was totally in the realm you are talking about unless the songs are all 15 minute long super jams. He is a frequent poster on...

I've had a Zoom RT234 for a long time. I find it very easy to use. Almost as easy to program the beats as it is to tap record them. Doesn't sound spectacular but good. Can't control stereo placement. Has headphone out and bass sounds. I think they're very cheap now. Thanks, I was kind of leaning to...

Thanks, I will definitely check that out. I forgot to mention that I do have a kindle fire and I downloaded Caustic, which is basically a rip off of Reason. The demo wasn't bad but the drums are all 808 house type drums and while I don't care if they sound "realistic" necessarily, I would like it to...

Easy drum machine for practice recommendations
I think I asked this exact thing a few years ago and had an HR-16 for a while but I can't find the thread. I am really working on my drum technique while I have some time between bands and I really want a SIMPLE TO USE drum machine. One with bass on it would be great also. I am working through a cou...
