Re: shedshrine build 3.0 - furniture, cats, gear and enlightenment, man

What his playing in general does though is make me want to eventually get a new Charvel Yeah same here. His sig model Charvel is super sweet. I'd love one, but I'm not nearly good enough at guitar to justify $3300! RE:The Aristocrats....I generally hate 'musician music' with a fiery passion, but I ...

Re: shedshrine build 3.0 - furniture, cats, gear and enlightenment, man

Look up some of The Aristocrats vids on youtube, Guthrie Govan plays a fretless guitar on some of their tunes. Thanks Mo’Space. Just went for a walk and listened. Govan is an amazing player obviously, and you figure a guy of that ability is going to wring out a lot from an instrument, and he does o...

Re: shedshrine build 3.0 - furniture, cats, gear and enlightenment, man

they had a used Westone fretless for 2 bills on the wall that I fell in love with. This made me want to show off my cheap fretless--an old japanese no-name fender copy that a guy put a new ironwood fretboard on. Tapewound strings, which I don't mind. (Also, I wanted to try out the attachment functi...

Re: shedshrine build 3.0 - furniture, cats, gear and enlightenment, man

Then there's my fretless guitar - the only axe I have with a 'poxy board, has regular guitar strings. Oh man, you've got to give us a link to any of your massive catalog (or a good example of anyone you recco) where you're slinging the fretless guitar. I think those would be a fun challenge and rea...

Re: vinyl collecting ( and surrounding planetary atmosphere )

Quite a history.

What all is included with those gigantic Metallica box sets?

I see that is post number 1. Welcome to Tape Op. Look forward to hearing about your killer guitar rigs. :)

Re: shedshrine build 3.0 - furniture, cats, gear and enlightenment, man

fretless - i had one for a long time, it's a very cool sound but a one trick pony. if you have a ton of money and want the whole arsenal (Fender J, Fender P, Hollowbody, Fretless, Something w/ Humbuckers, Upright) for your studio to cover every tone just in case, it's a great idea. but unless you'r...

Mark, as our resident bass maniac* I've been meaning to ask you what weapons you wield in your arsenal? What’s your take on 5+ strings? Fretless? Door proximity?

Hello Janek, My name is Shedediah O’Shrinessy and I’m a member of the Tape Op Messageboard forum. I have a question for you if I may regarding a photo of your pedal collection we all admired due to the layout of the shelving you utilized. It does look mighty fine. I'm guessing such a bad-ass bassist wouldn't dream of putting his tools in harms way, I bet that door just clears those on-stand beauties.

Re: shedshrine build 3.0 - furniture, cats, gear and enlightenment, man

My bad. I didn't make clear that that wall pictured belongs to someone named Janek Wizdala according to the monikor running down the right side of the photo. I just searched for and posted a pic showing a means for MoreSpace to have more space on his coffee table which he said finds itself often cov...

In my room the only (horizontal surface) is the coffee table, and though I try, it's usually covered in pedals, coffee cups and empty Polar seltzer cans. I suppose it breaks up standing waves a bit too. https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/c48/shedshrine/pedal_shelves.jpg?width=1920&height=1080&f...

I'm not Scott, but I'm a Kommander.
Winky PM Kommander: was listening to The Humorless Draftsman. That drum machine, atmosphere and vocal approach reminds of early Wall of Voodoo. Voice somewhere between Stan Ridgeway and David Sylvian. Cool stuff!
