Any Interface Models include Logic as Freebie?
Thinking about getting an iMac and using Logic. Its not easy to search if any particular products, namely converter interfaces, include Logic as a bonus. Offhand, does anyone know any Apple-compatible interfaces (preferably one's with pre's, say 8 of them) include Logic? Even the 'lite' version? Log...

I was going to turn in early until Conan teased that the Pixies were to perform - so I stayed up! Big disappointment. Like you said, guitars were anemic. Santiago looked like he sharted backstage and was embarassed about it. Frank never moves too much. The only one having fun was the drummer! Why co...

What was that band a few years back, 'Queefus' or 'Dweebus' or something - sang 'I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby...' Wasn't that dude's sound an acoustic piped into either an amp or dirt pedals or something? The song is annoying, to me anyway, though the tones are neat. Given my cryptic clues, you m...

I've got a basic Roland TD-6 (I think that's what it's called) kit and I experienced the same ghost hits. Find the 'sensitivity' paramater within the roland brain unit and scale back for each offending drum. I wasn't sending midi, just recording directly from the stereo Roland outs to a DAW, but the...

Thanks guys! I forgot to mention that I was using Cdex, which uses LAME conversion. I'll provide an update: I tested various parameter tweaks with Cdex conversion, and I believe our myspace uploads sound better now, though apparently not as loud as some other 'homegrown' material. I converted at 248...

Anyone use 3rd party embedded player on Myspace?
We just got our album mastered and we think it sounds awesome! Ran it through Myspace and it sounds, well, like Myspace took a dump on it and wrapped it in gauze. As I click around, I notice other independently produced works sound both louder and better. I'm always behind the 8 ball in matters conc...

I thought the production on that CD was interesting. Nothing really "smashing" but interesting nonetheless. One of the coolest moments to me was the cover of "Please Read the Letter". I love that tune, from Walking into Clarksdale...which was another really interesting production; moreso than Raisi...

If your internship involves not learning anything, but instead cutting grass for no money, might as well work for a landscaper and get $12 an hour for cutting grass. Pardon me, but I don't know where studio guys get off with that sort of attitude. Virtually no other industry is that belittling to in...

I believe the ay7 variety is lower gain that the ax7 - ac30 guys will do that swap to gain more clean headroom before breakup on newer voxes. The nice thing about ay7 is that they are in less demand, thus you can score a vintage Mullard that sounds sweet as hell for cheap compared to it's ax7 counte...

CD duplication and promo materials for no-name band
I am in said no-name band. I guess we've been identified as good enough to play weekends rather than Tuesdays, but we have no press, buzz, etc. We'd like to kick it up a notch. We've recorded a 6 song ep that we are quite pleased with. It's getting mastered as we speak, and we're considering short r...

I took the plunge and ended up buying the Yamaha enclosure (MSR400). I found a coupon code for music123 that took $65 off the price. Free shipping too, but I had to pay sales tax. (btw, the coupon code is 'spring') A few days back, I tested the yamaha against the Eon, the Mackie and the QSC K series...
