Re: Anyone know what this is?

I saw that girl on daytime TV. It is some super stupid white trash X game reject sport.

It is a timed thing, where the (dork) who makes the most pyramids in the allotted time wins a voucher good for one free trip to the crab leg bar at the sizzler or something. totally wierd phenomenon...

Re: getting a console power supply made

simply buy the correct volt/amp linear power supplies from DIGIKEY.

www.digikey.com

They have really reliable, solid ones. put them in an old rack and nobody will figure out how your old board just keeps on rockin.

Re: Rode NTV

I used one as a mono overhead at a studio in upstate NY called leopard studios. I used an API mic pre with it and I really liked it. really. I think it has a cool, weird sound to it. I have the classic II but I gotta get the NTV. I think it might be cooler than a 4050, but not as cool as a 67 or an ...

Re: MP3s-Are they changing the way we hear???

I have iTunes 4 with the AAC encoder. It is good for making a mix for in the van. I always feel like i am taking polaroids of the mona lisa when i import a cd i like. but whatever. I like playing aiff's in itunes. If I am going to listen to a digital playback format, I would rather not have it take ...

Re: Hi-Watt Amps

Hiwatts are great. just make sure it is either an older one or a newer one. the ones from the late 80's/early 90's have pc boards in them and they do nothing but murkify. I have a 100 watt plexi that I really like. the other guitarist in a band i play in has a beautiful late 60's hiwatt 50 watt that...

Lock protools to a tape machine or a BRC via smpte and vari speed away!

I use a BRC for this very purpose.

Re: Anyone know what this kind of jack is called?

I have heard them called "hotpoint" connectors, and also called "those terrible crappy things that should be replaced immediately." I have an adapter that i got from a harmonica player that it "hotpoint" to 1/4". I guess you can find those. That is what i use when i really need that "found it at the...

Re: optimizing macs for PT: please help me clean up my drive

Since rtas is cpu dependent,

You can do all the above, AND:

Hide tracks you are done editing for less redraw and cpu usage for display, set the edit window up under preferences to be black and white, and "blocks" so no redraw is needed when zooming/scrolling.

Re: Universal Audio 2-610

It may not be true, but I always feel like the drawmer 1960 is a good poor man's(sort of) telefunken. Especially when you put telefunken 12ax7's in there. I actually really like the mic pre on the drawmer 1960. I am not a freak about tubes, or gear in general, and the 1960 seems to work well for mos...
