Cool band and I must admit the recording sounds pretty damn good for a hardcore band.

is there any good recording resources for recording using linux? Has anyone used the inux operating system for any recordings? Just wondering

Concerning Meshuggah: They recorded the E.P. and the last album in their own studio (I think build it together with Clawfinger). Has anyone everheard the new Eighteen Visions record, the sound of the guitars and the drums are just so heavy. Does anyone know how they possibly did this? The "breakdowns" are phenomenal. The new Meshugah E.P. "I" has some really good metal parts, 20 mins of pure chaos, they have such a thick soun...

Alot of people may already know this but I am very curious at what exactly the techinique of gain staging is. To what I think it is, it is how you set up the gain before recording. I may be wronng, can someone please help me with this techiniqiue? thanks

I heard from a friend that this guy that calls himself mammal got his material refused printing at three different vinyl pressing plants, they supposidly told him that his material peaks to much and they would not risk breaking any of there equipment over that. Could this be true?

Sounds good, where's the meat?

Doez anyone have any recomendations on what to be careful with when tracking a guy that will be making noise? Its in the vein of Merzbow, very choatic stuff. I don't want him to overload my A/D and break them. Also he wants to use my equipment to track everything, should I have loud distorted noise ...

maybe my version just does not work properly because it stalls my computer sometimes but I will try to take care of this and let you guys know what happens

never got inot fruity loops but reason's syths seem to me to be way cooler sounding that fl. Fl' sampler is not very good.

Get a good pedal in front of any Pure Tube amp and see if you like it. That is the best sounding set-up for anything in the genre you are playing in. I can tell you pedal names and such but go out yourself and look around for stufff that you can use. With guitar equipment, when you want a good sound...

I agree the converters sound a bit to thin for studio recordings, but I guess that I have no choice in using it.
