axiom speakers

Hi. There were a handful of threads from a couple of years ago praising Axiom speakers for nearfield monitoring. Haven't seen much discussion recently and see a pretty quick sale or two following purchase. I am wondering what the current sentiment on these speakers are. I see the M2's and M22's were...

I like this a lot. Love the vox and the hard-to-peg main riff.

Epi Joe Pass--Gibson P94s, Bigsby B6, Korean

Up for sale is an Epiphone Joe Pass Emperor II hollowbody that was made in Korea (Samick), has had a few significant upgrades, and includes a very nice hard shell case. This is a very nice Epiphone. I would like $650 shipped. This Joe Pass is unique in that it has the pickup selector on the lower bo...

Thanks. Full Compass is selling them for $699. B&H is doing $499.

Sounds like you got a bargain.

Price disparity of the Beyer m160

Hello, I am looking to acquire a new m160. It seems the pricing on these vary widely. I've seen reputable places selling them for $500 and others for $700.

Anything I should be aware of behind this? Are there any known counterfeits?

Thanks.

Thanks everyone. After some research, the first thing I did was swap out the transistor in the lower-left corner of the picture above. Magically it did the trick. I have a couple of lesser issues I want to (now more confidently) deal with before buttoning this back up. I am tempted to do so without ...

Thanks. Would it make sense for caps of different values to be labeled 'mial 1000 5%'?

After further, inconclusive research, I think those parts circled in orange are polystyrene capacitors. Does this seem right?

I am still confused as to why they are labeled 'mial 1000 5%' when the schematic indicates differing values. Maybe those labels are not values?

Thanks for any help.

Thanks to the both of you for your help. SureShot, I do plan on replacing all of the electrolytic caps. In the thread that crow linked to, someone with a similar problem to mine found that replacing a non-electrolytic did the trick. But yeah, I also plan on replacing some of the transistors too--lik...

Thanks, crow. All good info--what you provided and through the link. All of my D's are bad, so I think my initial problem is in the main oscillator too. I found a schematic online--and am trying to figure it out. I may be back with some follow-up questions. The only electronics work I have done (suc...
