Most any condenser you choose will be more sensitive, but that sensitivity will also introduce more feedback issues, especially as she moves through different clubs and different sound guys. I have a bunch of Audio Technica AE-4100 dynamic handhelds for our vocal jazz groups which are very full and...

the last couple projects i've done, i used a 441 on top and a 57 on the bottom. i don't use much botton sound, i like a tight snare sound, but the 441 sounds really fucking tits. doesn't pick up much bleed and it gets the meat and potatoes of the snare drum along with an awesome attack.

I haven't used the JJ's so can't comment. I will say, if this isn't too obvious, to stay away from groove tubes and other Chinese tubes... if it doesn't say where its from, chances are its china. For my money the Svetlana (russian) power tubes are great - lots of spank in my musicman. Mike i just r...

any recommendations for a good live vocal mic?

my girlfriend sings for a mostly acoustic rock/alternative band and she needs something better than a SM58 for live stuff. i'd like to find her something that won't have to be turned up as loud as most dynamics to compete with the levels of the rest of the band, or to the point of feeding back when ...

another sample delay question....

.... so i had a couple regions that had 64 samples of delay on them, i moved them backwards by 64 samples.... my question is that why then do the tracks in the mix window still say that i have 64 samples of delay?

I either correct for it, or use the ADC in PTHD. It messes with phase relationships horribly.Totally unacceptable. so, i should just shift the tracks backwards by 64 samples? i agree that it f's up the phase a lot. If it sounds crappier with the plugin delay, then ....yep. i switched to a different...

I often both paralell and serial compress stuff...So paralell compression doesnt necessarily need to be one uncompressed signal mixed with a compressed copy. It can also be a compressed signal mixed with a differently compressed copy or mult, if that makes sense. The main thing is that the new sign...
