Yeah, but look at the gear forum go! It's easier to just blame the gear rather then the ears. Sucks for them but it's good that we know the real secret...that getting a couple three new CD's is way more inspiring & cheaper then that shiny new box! I'd start by dropping the level to something more manageable to gain headroom, say -15dBfs and then try anything & everything but the kitchen sink.
