I tend to do alternate passes at the mix session. We listen to the final mix. Then print instrumental, TV and a cappella mixes right after. I will wait to do stems and consolidation and all that until after the project is done but I could always use with a 15 minute or so break (at least) printing t...

That's a fair thought. I feel like anything could be a plausible heart mic. I heard someone (Tchad Blake?) use a 441 as a heart mic. Sounded pretty good. I one time, in a pinch, used a m160 and thought it sounded great but the producer wanted to be able to sound replace the kick and snare so I had t...

Ah. I wrote it wrong. I usually write TC30k. Short for the EarthWorks TC30 Omni.

There are, of course, as many ways to mic as there are mic's and mic'ers, but do look up "heart mic", which your mention of "parallel to the shell" reminded me of. There's a lot of info on that right here on TOMB. Signed, yer hi-jacker  Ive done the heart thing. With a 635 and an EW30k. Bo...

Guys! You hijacked my thread! Ha. I don't care. I like how the original topic evolved into a natural conversation about something else. On a related note, I was on the transformerless 57 bandwagon before I even knew it. Way back in the day (say, '95), I traded an engineer a SM58 for a Maya "special ...

Why not use email? It'll live on the company's servers so would be retrievable from anywhere pretty easily on pretty much any device.

You could even create a new email address that isn't linked to a mail program so there isn't a risk of accidental deletion.

I see. Drunk response? 2 Cardioids hard L/R in phase, 1 Omni 2 Cardiods out of phase, 1 Figure 8/Bi I left the word "phase" in there but I meant "Polarity". I just want it known, I applause the thought. Seriously... But you're just trying to make a carded pattern when the company who deign the patte...

Just want to add? Yes, you can create a cardioid pattern from a mix of Bi/Omni. See the Josephson 700 series. http://www.josephson.com. Any pattern is essential a mix of Bi/Omni. But you have to know why you may want to. In the end if you want a hard left/right image, with level control, nothing wil...

Sort of reminds me of my thoughts once? http://messageboard.tapeop.com/viewtopic.php?t=85856&highlight= Thoughts?. Are you looking to record them in stereo? If so just go with MS or XY or Blum or whatever. Are you looking to record them in mono? Then, I dunno, Just go with an omni and move them to b...

Maybe it's just me, but no one here seems interested in the stuff you are selling. Maybe move on or at least consolidate it into one post. It's getting kind of annoying to see the same posts every few days.

Maybe I'm wrong.

Well, I'm sure Albini would be on board with a banning.

I drove half way across the country in a Civic. It was great. Though if I had a choice I would have picked a different car. Yeah, proper gain staging is one of the fundamentals that I planned focusing on. Heck, it's one of the fundamentals I'm constantly reminding myself of. The class isn't happenin...
