The point of "excercizing" tape is that sometimes some of the oxide particles fall off the backing during the manufacturing/shipping process [I'm not talking about "shedding"!!... that is a whole 'nother story]... the theory behind "excercizing" the tape is to get rid of any loose particles before t...

You could try doing some parallel compression to the overheads on the stuff you've already tracked... it can get a bit tricky but if you tuck it into the regular balance you can often get away with it.

Best of luck.

I got sued once by a studio owner who told me I couldn't work in his studio anymore [I had done a July 4th weekend/3 day booking without an assistant from the studio and there were beer cans and pizza boxes all over the place... we blew up an Auratone and an NS-10 and the studio owner wanted me to A...

A frequency response of like 500Hz-4kHz will help... then time the delay to either an 8th or 16th note and that should get you damn near exactly where you want to be.

Best of luck with it.

Peace.

Sounds to me like the singer is having problems monitoring what they're recording hence the vocals are out of tune... figure out a way to get them a monitor send that is before the A/D conversion and they should be able to sing in better tuning for you.

Best of luck with it.

They weren't arguing the "performance value" of the video tape... they were arguing shit like lighting and camera angles [and possibly shit of value being missing and or the camera shaking... I don't watch Judge Judy but I can imagine what happened]. If you're a noob and you're running a $15-/hr. sh...

Its a common practice... you figure out what you're going to do in pre-production then make big "posters" that hang on the wall so you don't forget any parts you want to record... as has been previously mentioned, they're not "charts" per se but more like a "to do" list.

Depends on the song... but I'm sure we could pull it off... the bitch will be getting a great drummer for $100- song... most of the excellent [un signed] drummers I know that are top flight want at least $200 a song.

What kind of converter is it? I know there were some, like the Metric Halo, where there was actually a delay between the two sides.

No shit!

He's dead now, ya know.... Yeah, I know... dickhead. He was a very good friend of mine. I saw him at one of his last shows around Atlanta before he passed... he looked like 1/2 a ghost but still gave it his all when he was performing [which was pretty much all he liked to do, so he did it right up ...
