12AU7 has a rating of 19 vs. 12AX7 with a rating of 100...so this will make 12AU7 "cleaner" and "quieter"...

I carry a MBP, Samson GoMic, Edirol R9 & a folder of original songs in a backpack all the time...sure it sacrifices "ultimate fidelity" compared to most of my other mics, preamps, and such, but it is uber-portable!

Kinda reminds me of how Roland is selling the Octa-Capture...they claim it will set optimum recording levels...I suppose we'll start getting mixing boards that will automatically mix albums "to optimum levels" in the near future...

I don't know why this helps, but when my ears start ringing "loudly" I put my fingers in my ears and within seconds the tinnitus aggrevation subsides. Your mileage may vary...
