Popular + piano = Sara Bareilles?

Looks like the "King of Anything" track is the most popular off her new album.

I'm also interested in hearing what you're up to and adding some guitars. I've been on a huge Rhodes kick lately - I can't get enough. You can check out the links in my signature - I played all the guitars and engineered the recordings. Let me know!

MSE - You're right - my dad had some old Fisher speakers that were very similar. I guess I subconsciously aped them.

Sort of like these:

My 703 Panels

Thought I'd post some pics. I made 6 of these for my home studio. They were easy to make, but took longer than I thought they would. The sides are 1/2" CDX plywood ripped into 4" strips. Thanks to Dixieline Lumber - they ripped the plywood for me. One sheet gave me enough to do all 6 frames. Some 1 ...

if you sat me and CG down in front of a pair of speakers, put on a record and asked for our thoughts on the drums, i'd be like "yeah...those drums sound pretty good. nice ring on the snare..." garges would be like "well, clearly that's a 1974 vistalite kit...orange....the snare is obviously a black...

Chris - That is the most awesome post I've ever seen here. You should record people for a living!

Also, how often does your last name get mangled? 1 out of 3 times?

I think I'll limit myself to 8 tracks.

For the new album. Won't that be an awesome challenge? Probably something like:
OH/L
OH/R
Kick
Snare
Bass
Sax
Guitar
Percussion

That's not counting aux channels. On those, I'll give myself 4. Couple of reverbs, maybe a stereo compressor.

Thoughts? Ideas?

Overall, this sounds really good. You should be proud. I'm just another douchebag guitarist, but the guitars' tone sound fine to me. I'd be happy with them. If anything, bring the acoustics up a little and lower the electrics. Right now the mix seems like mostly electric guitar and the snare. Bring ...

Dumb question, but there are lots of different Twins. Is this a tube Twin? Do not hook a hotplate up to a solid state amp. Twins have been everything from 2 ohms to 16 ohms over the years, so be sure you know what yours is. Learn more about your Fender here: http://www.ampwares.com/fender.asp You ca...

play it over your monitors and record that in stereo. You could use that for a stereo reverb send or something.

I don't have a screenshot of it, but when I group things in ProTools, I'll give them a corresponding letter: d for drums, o for overheads, g for guitars, v for vox, etc. Makes it easier to turn the groups on and off.
