Dude - I think that between this post and your other one - you just don't like the Twin. It's OK. I had a Deluxe Reverb and I hated it. But I kept it for a long time because so many people told me it was a great amp. Sell your twin and buy something else. I'd say from your recent posts that you want...

Man, I could have written that original post there. Effortless Mastery by Kenny Werner. Read the book or watch the dvd. It specifically deals with the "tomorrow I'm going to practice" mentality and the "I'm not good enough" stuff. It really helped me. Thanks for the reminder that I should stop takin...

Thanks Chris and Leigh!

Thanks so much for taking some time out to talk on the phone with me. Since I'm only able to go to college part time (gotta work) it is going to be a long road. It is inspiring to get to know real people who are actually making a living creating/recording/doing music. You guys gave me a lot of insig...

Tell about working in the audio/music industry

Hello Tape Opers- I?m considering entering a degree program here at UCSD. It is an Interdisciplinary Arts and Computing Major with a focus on Music . Think of it as 2/3 music degree, 1/3 computer science degree. I am so excited - it seems like a perfect degree for me: part creative, part nerdy. It s...

I think it might have more to do with low frequencies. I don't move the kick or the bass hard to the side because they tend to need lots of power to be reproduced loudly. So I want both speakers working to create the bass sounds. Mids, or highs I take more liberties with because they don't suck up a...

I swapped out my 12AX7s for 12AT7s in V1 and I've been digging the sound. I think i really do prefer power tube saturation over pre-amp saturation. And with clean sounds - I get more tubeyness.

I just wanna mention that it was interesting reading through this thread, imagining that all of the bold parts are autotuned ... time for a spoken word project! I am listening to a book on CD. I swear it is autotuned. Spoken words. Tuned. You can hear it in the iTunes preview. Check out "The Woman ...

I have gotten some great tones with my tele as well, but my 6120 can hold it's own.

Tele --> Deluxe Reverb
6120 (with TV Jones PU) --> Traynor YBA-1A ---> 4x10

I'd get the Traynor too. But which amp are you planning on using for dirt? Traynors are loud non-master volume amps. And heavy. If you're just a/b switching them, you'll have 6L6 clean and EL-34 clean.

I once had this awesome tele tone going. (Freeride) I did one pass, put the amp on standby, took a listen, then went back to fix 2 chords that I missed. The tone was gone.

Turned out later to be a bad guitar chord. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't.

Totally off topic but what is the name of the man in you avatar, prof. T? I saw a vocal instruction video of him on youtube awhile ago and I cannot find it for the life of me anymore. He is quite a character. I think his videos are all down now. I looked about six months ago and could not find them...

Yikes, just saw your questions. 1) Just checked it, it seems to be running ok. Maybe you had cached an old version? 2) If you're not doing RSS feeds, then no, there isn't much point. But, you can add this feed to your "my yahoo" home page for example. You build your home page into a sort of custom n...
