mp3 for mastering in a pinch??

I already know the answer to this..But is it feasible at all?
I'm in a bind and hope someone chimes in and says," sure, I do it all the time"
It's time for mastering and 2 mixes of the 8 songs to be released have gone missing.. my fault.
anyway, thanks for any input

Post tone stack..that works. It seems no one really mentions using the line out of bass amps in the studio, it's all about the DI box. ok. I think I just answered my own question..You would be taking the bass signal right off of the instrument. Got it.. I'm very much not liking the Squier P through ...

Bass amp line out as DI?

Hi,
I have a 1974 Ampeg B115. Great sounding amp btw.
I currently am using an art passive di box as a aplit for the DI.
Can I use the line out as a DI on this or other bass amps as the DI?
Thanks

An awesome, awesome technique that sounds awesome, for acoustic guitar and vocals, is to have the guy do a pass of both at the same time, then go back and double-track each individually, the guitar and then the vocals, with all the mics on. Then erase the original tracks and you have completely ind...

thanks for the replys. I've actually surprised myself with the lows I have been able to dredge up. Using a combination of low cut on the vocals, and the air windows Density and Drive, I've got the vocals where I want them and most of the guitar EQ'ed out. I also copied each track and EQ'ed each diff...

"Make a copy of the guitar track, do crazy, whacky, horrible sounding things to it that make it sound bassy and then sneak that up under the original." That's the direction I'm headed to. I will have to check out some kind of subharmonic freeware plug.. The session was tough, because the artist was ...

need low end that just isn't there

I recently recorded a friends friend for free.. I didn't pay enough attention to mic placement. Vocal and Acoustic recorded in one pass. Vocals through a mxl 2001, acoustic w/ a mxl 603 pointed at the 12th fret. I am having a hell of a time finding any lows to work with on the acoustic.. Any tips? b...

I am trying to incorporate this into the main computer rather have it based off of my powerbook.. Off topic, but I am basically looking for an extra monitor/wireless control??? with the...

sharing a firewire interface w/ 2 computers?

Is it possible to have my imac and a powerbook simultaneously connected to my motu ultralite? Would there be any limitations? Would I see a puff of smoke?

can I use powered monitors w/ power amp rec out?

can I use powered monitors hooked to a rec or tape out from my NAD receiver.
I realize I would have to control the volume on the monitors themselves, but would there be any issues to be aware of?
