I'm constantly indulging in various things but never around recording gear.

System 7.1 that came with Quadra 800.

So I'm tracking this band and need help with the snare sound. I am currently using (2) SM57's on top, Beta 52 & AT4060 on bottom, (2) Beyer Ribbons as room mics (for snare only not for entire kit) and also backing it up with several canned snare sounds. I need more beef. I'm going to 2" tape, casse...

The bag prevents it from breathing as well, and traps humidity. It ships in the sealed bag to keep humidity out, but once it's open it simply traps it.

Most recently? ...fresh refill 99.9% isopropyl and long stick cotton swabs. YES ! ! !

I use cassette ..PortaStudio 144 four track, Fostex X24 four track, and Tascam 122 two track. Every recorder has a sound and vibe ..I like 'em all.

My '84 works fine as well. In ways the old ones are much better.

I like the colors ..brown with yellow and red highlights. And the name "Tape Op". Complaints, none.

Don't have an mp3 handy, but my D12 sounds dark and thumpy ..thats how they are.
