I saw the video once and its a little confusing because of the string. If you use two sticks to measure out the distance for the (behind-side) mic, why can't you just use the 2-sticks to measure the over-snare mic as well? I just don't get the whole pinning-the-string-to-the-kick-drum thing... What ...

Nice Tony - and thanks for posting the clip. I'm gonna try that method and compare which works best for my room. But man those drums sound as if I'm standing right there. And the 602 sounds good - better than mine did. I always felt that mic was a bit much, but I may consider it again. What are sE C...

You're a producer and don't know about compression and decibel values?Trey Monroe wrote:What exactly is the "Threshold" all about and why is it in negative db?

Gobos - like they said. Also, if you "can" - get a Sennheiser 441. They are unbelievable in rejecting almost EVERYTHING but what it's pointed at. I recently had a jam that used a Glyn Johns overhead and kick mic. The bass was direct (through the amp) and there were two Telecasters through Deluxe Rev...

You might want to check with Richard Land at Land Audio in Nashville to see if he can turn a D12 into a D12E, so that you'll have a normal XLR connector on the bottom that will fit into an AKG mic clip. Chris Garges Charlotte, NC You got a website for this guy? I "googled" and can't seem to find an...

I've got one of those cheap AEA stereo bars with degree marks so I can put the mics at a 110 degree angle and I have a sheet of paper with a mark for the corect capsule space (19cm?). What did you pay for this? I called the company and they want about $245... Any place to get something (with this q...

I think you'd benefit with a little experiment with OH placement/technique. This is back to the Glyn Johns overheads. Same setup on everything else. I think the cymbals sound really good/balanced and the kick is snappy and punchy. I did find a phase issue (from the other two songs) with the snare, ...

Any Broken D12 Microphones?
Wondering if anyone had a broken AKG D12 lying around and wanted to sell it for parts. I need the part where the mic connects to the stand. The female threads on the mount are cross-threaded.
