My avatar is an electric 12 from Rondo, nice wide neck. It had a couple of minor finish flaws. I had a Dan-O 12 reissue that I liked better, but someone stole it.

I have a pair of unpowered Event 20/20s, which apparently are almost 20 years old now, one is acting flaky playing bass tones, I guess I need to upgrade as well... (I don't know if it's "user serviceable" or worth it to just replace a woofer in those)

Audio cables will not get close to the speed of light. The spec is called 'propagation delay'. My best high speed data cables work at 70% propagation delay, not too shabby. The best fiber optics work much faster. If the 70% means the fraction of the speed of light, that's still something like 700,0...

The delay is only the "air" part (speaker to mic distance), about 1 millisecond per foot. The delay going through the cables is about 1 nanosecond per foot (i.e. the speed of light). Harder to hear IMO.

Ruby red Ric 330. Walked into a guitar show with a Gibson Tennessean, which I hadn't been playing. Traded that and $200 for this.

Just invested $2 in the iPhone app, it seems to have the "Strawberry Fields" intro flute sound, so I'm good. I don't know if the "Bungalow Bill" flamenco guitar sound is available anywhere, that might be amusing once.

Late to the party (just saw the movie on VH1), I liked it, I had no expectations and didn't know much about the studio before I saw it. It was a little strange that they put some Gary Numan video clips up when talking about sequenced/Pro Tools music, the videos they used were from Pleasure Principle...

Do you know if the Fender and Dano basses from that era were typically strung with flats or roundwound strings? (I know nothing about upright bass, do they have different string types?).
