Re: KVM switches

Two more possible solutions: I think it's possible to have multiple USB keyboards/mice attached at the same time. You just need enough USB plugs to make it fly. Or maybe a USB one and a PS2 one. Or get an infrared wireless keyboard & mouse, and just move it where it's needed. They'll work through gl...

Re: what shipping company will ship 150lbs and over?

BAX shipped my 600 w/patchbay from Halifax to Boston. It was crated, with a couple other boxes shrinkwrapped to the crate.

Crate ran maybe $70, shipping something like $350.

It spent about 6 hours total in transit.

Re: what shipping company will ship 150lbs and over?

Check out DHL and BAX Global. They both offer freight services for large stuff, and can do lift-gate pickup and delivery.

You're going to need a crate & pallet, probably.

Re: Aces multitrack

Aces were bought by Soundcraft. There are some slightly more modern version of that deck around with the Soundcraft logo on 'em. If that deck doesn't come with a service manual, it may be nearly impossible to find. This was before Soundcraft was bought, so Harman will probably disavow any knowlegde....

Re: SIMPLE tube amp scematics...?

30 watts or more of output Yow...that's kinda ambitious for a first tube amp. Especially if you want simple. I built the P1 from the ax84 site last fall, and it's a little screamer. I added a master volume, and it's driving a Jensen Mod 8" speaker, all in a little pine box. They've got bigger stuff...

Re: HPF, LPF

When I'm mixing on a desk with sweepable highpass and lowpass, I'll use them on a lot of the channels. For stuff I want to keep bassy or airy, I'll not use the corresponding filter. For something I want to make a rumble, I'll leave the highpass at the lowest frequency, like kick drum or bass guitar....

Re: Voltages on OzAudio

I just checked my HM4. It says 120V by the power plug, with no apparent switch for 240.

The manual doesn't say anything about 240, either.

Re: Creating VST Instruments

If you're experienced with C++ on win or mac, look into Steinberg's VST SDK. They publish some source code and some tutorials. http://www.steinberg.de/Steinberg/Developers.asp?Langue_ID=7 If you know the tools & languages, it'll take you about half an hour to get your first example running. A good r...

Crown PZM on the floor, anywhere between 3 and 10 feet in front of the kick. Move it to the sides if it's too boomy.

Re: Anyone Use TC M300 reverb?

I use an M300 as my "bread & butter" reverb. I usually have it set up in stereo, with the FX section bypassed. The reverbs are very nice. The "Ambience" setting is very nice if you don't want to wash out the world. There are some nice FX, too. Definitely worthwhile if you don't have a longish delay,...

Re: Does this scam sound familiar? Please Read. . .

Yes, this sounds very familiar. That oversized money order will be bogus. Do a board search for posts by Alex Matson. He had exactly the same kind of response on a Rickenbaker guitar.
