Re: phase reverse / esrever esahp
Plus remember that the polarity switch (or polarity-reversed cable) only do just that - reverse POLARITY which is an electrical property. If two or more sources arrive at the transducer at different times, they are STILL out of PHASE! I rarely use the polarity switch - usually only on SD if I'm usi...

Re: best synthy keyboard - preferably cheap!
P.S. Tony- what software/library is it you sell? It is just a huge collection of sounds that I have collected over the years. Trading with the other mirage geeks, buying from syntaur. I even picked up a copy of a visual sample editor for the mirage. runs only on DOS though! haha. Called Sample Visi...

Re: best synthy keyboard - preferably cheap!
The esq just needs some creative programming to bring out it's beauty. I don't miss knobs on it- sweeping the filter with the Mod wheel while modulating oscillator 2's freq in AM mode with a CV Pedal is the balls, man. You don't see many synths that can use CV pedals these days, which is too bad. B...

Re: best synthy keyboard - preferably cheap!
. Good stuff! I love that low-fi sound. A nice mirage will not run you too much money at all - but I think they all suffer from a proprietary drive that dies and is not easily replaceable. Plus the LED readout on that thing is a real doosey - at least the Akai had a character display. There are som...

Re: best synthy keyboard - preferably cheap!
The Juno 6 (1st juno, all analog, no patch saving) under $250 Korg Poly 800 (like the alpha juno, but even cheaper these days). just saw 2 on craigslst for under $100! Ensoniq Mirage DSK-8 (an 8bit, lo-fi sampler with analog filters and TONS of CHEAP libraries available) under $200 AND DEF. ditto on...

Re: Fraudster - help needed
I can tell you where he lives. What exactly did he do? Can you explain? Hmmm... Actually, if you look at his ebay record, he is NOT a great seller either. Several negative feedbacks.... I mean that happens from time to time (ebayers can be quick with the trigger finger in ALL ways). I bought a DBX c...

Re: D.I.Y. spring reverb ?
I have never heard of the reverb unit you speak of, but for what it is worth, decent spring reverbs go for $100 or less on ebay almost every week. The 80's and 70's sound reinforcement models (by companies like furman) were originally designed for live situations, but they sound great for recording....

Re: nice deal on a broken GHOST (soundcraft)
Can I add.... I think this tops the topaz deal. oh and I have no where to put it.
add it to the list of things I missed because I have no space.
tony echos
I got an idea for my signature.
my studio is small. very small. in fact, it isn't a studio at all.

Re: Garageband 2, MacMini
If it's anything like the Cube and like the Apple laptops, it's gonna be dead silent. Definitely would be easier to have one in a home studio than your usual "white box full of fans" approach. Good point. Perhaps for the small home studio with an mbox it is perfect. def. has a SMALL footprint. Damn...

Re: Garageband 2, MacMini
ok - so there are few minor setbacks: but look how friggin small this thing is! And its probably better suited for recording on location than most laptops! I may get one for the club I work in to record the shows - with a small LCD monitor or something, and a firewire drive this thing can probably ...

All ram is NOT created equal. With every OSX upgrade Apple has made more demands on RAM so many folks buying cheap RAM out there have experienced problems which have been attributed to RAM, ie. kernel panics etc. The good news is you can still get RAM for way cheaper than Apple sell it and most rep...
