Profire 610 if you only need 2 mic inputs. fast track ultra if you need 4. Both are solid, profire sounds the best IMO.

Pro Tools LE has NO delay compensation. HD systems do. You'll need mellowmuse ATA or some delay compensation plug-in.

Ya the G5s really ramp up. The new mac pros are dead silent, haven't heard one turn on the backburners like the old machines.

Is that letter in bad taste? Didn't seem so. I think abbey road is an amazing studio with history, why not make it a historical landmark and preserve it? I'd love to take a tour some day.

That MC Control thing looks really cool. I'd love to have one. We'll definitely see less Logic promotion going on with Euphonix now. Apogee and Apple will have to find another partner.

If more jitter means increased low end punch, clarity in the highs, and better stereo imaging, I'm all game.

But something tells me it doesn't offer that.

Even though, pretty much by definition, a crystal-oscillator internal clock will always have less jitter than one generated by a PLL? -a While that may be true, your ears are the real answer. IMO, it's an inexpensive upgrade to hear what I feel is a big difference all across the board, literally. Mic pres are fantastic, but that's per channel. I really believe adding a clock to my system, whether it be one digital device or more, really made a difference.

Set a deadline or start charging by the hour. Most projects I've done will get their ass in gear and get serious about their recording. The more you offer FREE, the more they'll take it for granted and spend their sweet time.
