not quite
thanks for responding...however, I am looking for an EDITOR that will export to .m4a, not really a dedicated converter - i already have that in I-tunes or realplayer. That's why I'm asking here - are there any pro-audio apps that encode to m4a? wavelab, sonar, cubase, samplitude, audition, nuendo, e...

who has software that will do this...
I am going insane trying to find an audio editor that will allow (preferably batch) encoding of .m4a files. I have a project for work that requires ripping tracks from our own CD's (that we recorded, produced and copwrited - nothing illegal) and encoding them to both .mp3 and .m4a/.mp4/aac (you know...

nice
"Regal Clang" - good band name... i had a kid A/B 2 channels on a plasma TV at best buy recently, claiming channel A was cheap cable, and channel B was monster cable. As you might have guessed, channel B was much clearer and crisper. I asked him if he expected me to believe that an entire industry o...

If your mixes suck with hosa cable, they will suck with mogami as well.

lame review
You have to admit, that Fathead ribbon review in this month's issue is pretty worthless. With the only conclusion drawn in the article being "it made my digital tracks sound not so sterile!", this review comes off as a cheap advertisement. At least the word warm was used only twice. That's sweet how...

i've been playing for xxx years...ECH!
it always kills me when people boast about how long they've been playing. It means NOTTA. lots of folks are better players in year 3 than in year 20 - they plateau quickly and never grow anymore. People reach a certain level of proficiency and then just play the same shit (101 blues licks) every tim...

need mo-gami
Yeah, I might be that type of person...but probably not. When I was your age, people thought anything made in Japan sucked... Oxygenated what? Nope, don't understand, don't care. All marketing. This back and forth is getting old. peace to you, mogami fan. I'm glad you got out of GC. I'd like to hear...

ah, geez
mogami , monster, etc. are way overpriced for what they are, end of story. Don't tell me about hearing differences in cables, it's a sham. If a cheapskate wants one cable, he's gonna buy one cheap cable, not 3, because 3 cheaps = 1 mogami... therefore, you'd make better comission on the mogami sale....

I guess I am full of poop
Of course some cables are built to last, and some are not. I just don't wanna hear any of this "extended frequency response" horseshit regarding monster cable. I thought that's the direction that "shitty hosa" comment was going. Yes, making them yourself is the only way to go, since the guys we're a...

cracka-lackin'
I'm pretty sure it's the eh pre - it does not happen with any other pre I have with the same gain staging. In fact, with my other pre's I can slam them really hot and it does not occur. for instance, the signal path for my last round of troubleshooting was: 57 in front of classic 30, lead channel, n...

thanks for that
I didn't really detect any of the crackling noise in the 12ay7 clip you provided - the stuff I experience is not musical; not cool. I'd like to hear how your clip sounds recorded a bit hotter, to see if that would cause the static myself and others have been getting. The only tube swapping I've done...

"...shitty hosa or pro20m cables don't qualify for a "pro account" This guy must buy into the monster cable scam - how else could you work there if you were not willing to deceive people? mmmm, those fake gold connectors sound better! I miss the old days of haggling, before these capitalism gone awr...

hassle
GC's MUST find a way to expedite you if you only need a set of strings or something. Why does every trip there need to be a like a visit to a car dealership? My visits go like this: Phony greetings in dude-speak upon entrance. Stumble through the noisey maze to your desired department. stand at coun...

blue mics
It's not wise criteria, but I shy away from the BLUE brand because they look too "cute". The marketing for the baby bottle is all about looks and low price and "sounds good on everything!" - that to me is a red flag, and makes me not care to find out for myself how it sounds. And it ain't a ribbon, ...
