- Topic: 1x12" cab instead of 4x12" for recording? recommen

I had a similar desire myself. I've been using a 2x12 and a 1x10 for recording guitar. Both have nice things about them, but they take up a lot of space in my small room. I was thinking of building a 1x12 speaker cab to use with any amp, specifically for recording. I did a little browsing at availab...

Sonar 7 is having some driver issues from what I understand. I used it to mix a song recently, but when I tried tracking with it for the first time I could not select any inputs!!! My problem seems to be an issue with Presonus stuff at the moment. Big bummer. I still have v4 installed so I can keep ...

I'm actually curious about personal experiences with some of the small keyboard controllers as well. I've been thinking about picking one up. I currently have a 48 key controller which is nice, but it takes up too much desk space. I want something small. I like that they are putting pads and even X/...

I actually bought a bent Speak & Read a few years ago for about $100 if I remember correctly. Now, I don't think it was worth that much but I did get some really cool sounds from it that made it onto a couple tracks. My sons have been interested in it. I need to get new batteries. Once I do, I'll le...

I really want to make it this year. I'm pretty sure a few of my friends will be there. If work keeps going the way it has been I might actually be able to afford it! I've been really wanting to do this for a couple of years, and now that it's coming back to NO I need to make it. It will be less than...

Does that seem plausible? I convinced myself, anyway . . . When I listen to the classic station playing 50s and 60s music, it seems very bass heavy to me. When I began reading your post, it started to make sense- maybe they were bass heavy because they were trying to make up for a lack of bass resp...

I certainly haven't played on enough different guitars to know which one would be my dream. Personally I love to play any guitar. If I had to get rid of all but one of my electric guitars, I would keep my Ibanez Les Paul copy. It's one of the earlier ones that has the Gibson style headstock. It is m...

The easiest way to see if Norton is causing your problems is to turn it off and try recording. ASIO drivers should have been installed with your Presonus interface, though you may not have them selected in Cubase. There are probably a few different drivers you can select so you should check that und...

Digital mic pre?
I want to build a couple pres this year (after a few stomp boxes), and I'm wondering if there are any kits that add digi outs. If there is, I want to hold off on buying a 'new' pre with digi outs and instead put that money towards the DiY.

Back in the day we just used a portable tape recorder at our practices. I still have a box full of those tapes. Several years ago we were using portable minidisc recorders which worked pretty well. Now, I just set up a single room mic using the basic pre on my Firebox. Works great for just getting i...

Hahaha that was great. So is the Zfex a DiY pedal, or just a boutique (whatever the hell that means)? I want to build a few pedals as my first DiY projects, but I'm torn on which I want to build. Mainly because I haven't heard any of them and I suppose it's hard for me to buy something like that I h...

There is probably about 3.5' to 4' of flat ceiling between the sloped sides. After reading this thread a few weeks ago I did a search for acoustic treatment and came across a really great article that explained a lot. I really want to build some simple traps to control the flutter echo in my living ...
