Studio Secrets: The HUM guitar sound (Keith Cleversley)
came across this blog that producer Keith Cleversley posted about how he recorded guitar for HUM's "You'd Prefer An Astronaut". Pretty interesting.

Well that's what being a freelance engineer/producer is about, no? You bring work/projects (bands) into existing studios to record them. Sure they have house engineers, but the band wants to work with YOU for your dope skills, not some unknown(to them) house guy. So the band pays you for your servic...

thanks for the response guys. to clear up a few questions... I signed a deal with a US digital distro (which covers iTunes US). The Japanese deal is a 'physical' release only, with the territory being Japan. I would absolutely make it clear to the buyer that this re-release was "re-mastered" and has...

legal question (releasing songs)
I've got a question about re-releasing music digitially. This probably isn't the best forum for my question, but I know there are some smart people here who might be able lend me some info. - CD is on iTunes in the US. It's self-released physically. - CD has been remastered and released (physically)...

correction, i found it: Windows XP Service Pack 3 April 23, 2008 ? Digidesign has officially qualified Windows XP Service Pack 3 with all products listed as qualified with Windows XP Service Pack 2, including systems with Avid video. There are currently no known compatibility differences between sys...

I looked back at the specs for what I put in for RAM and HD's. 2 Micron 512MB's and (2) Western Digital IDE 80GB's. I just checked my motherboard out and it can handle 3 RAM cards of up to 1GB each, so I could get my total RAM up to 3GB total. I wonder if there are any limitations against me doing t...

I built my computer based on specs/components recommended by the Digidesign DUC forums (it was late 2005 - so thats why my stuff may be outdated). Not sure if you've ever post over there but a guy named Allen moderates/gives out computer building tips and updates the info - I built his "Allenstein" ...

you should be a detective! i was using 'final cut' as an example. i have a lesser-known video program. i figured "photoshop"(which i do run) and "final cut" were the 2 most well known in graphic/video software - to give you guys idea of the kind of non-PT stuff i'm also running on my machine. yup, i...

I run PTLE 7.3 / digi002r on a pc. I know that Digidesign says you should run PT from the system drive. I already had some large programs/files(photoshop/etc) on my system drive and PT was running super slow when installed there too. So I had better results installing/running Protools from my 2nd in...
