His last album, Mystery Girl was pretty good too.

That special is out on DVD with a few extra songs, and there is a record.

Celebrate The Strike In Brooklyn

A quick note, I'm playing at The Red & Black tonite in Brooklyn. This is a transit strike party, and we will be celebrating the transit strike with music and drinks, and maybe some pizza. The Red And Black is in Williamsburg and you can walk there. N. 5th off of bedford (NW), its across the street f...

the album isn't as good as the liner notes. "I hope you enjoy listening to this record as much as we enjoy getting paid for it."

Am I the only one who found the Les Paul article a tough read? I'm going to give it another go but I found myself getting lost.... There isn't a lot of backrund in the article. I'd suggest reading just a small bio of the man... -played guitar for bing crosby -invented the solid body electric guitar...

Well, i still love my bass, and its only bad on one pick up. But its more an observation here than anything, I work with a lot of crappy basses from night to night, and its always the same problem. From a sound guy's perspective, its annoying.

Beringer Thread

So, i'll be at some show in a small bar a lot and be asked to help with sound a bit. More often than not, they have a b'ger mixer. I wanted to say that the lack of solo buttons really annoy me, and its very hard to tell whats what with out playing with the faders. However, i think they sound kind of...

basses

I've been noticing how many basses are just really crappy: almost most of them. There are so many, including one of my own, that the E string comes out as a different volume than the rest of the strings. Its usually louder, though last night it was softer. A lot of these basses are also very muddy s...

more tube questions....

I'm curious about how different tubes/ tube brands effect the application. To be specific, I'm playing with a GT "The Brick," which uses a 12AX7 and a 12AU7. I put some RCA tubes in there, and the high notes particularly sound really good. If I'm using it for a bass DI, though, is there a better tub...

I need a device that...

....that can take the load from my tube amp, and send it direct to the board. A DI for my amp head, so I don't have to bring the cab with me.

I have no idea if this will sound any good, but I just saw a write up on a USB Turntable: http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000940071106/ At the very least, it seems like it'd make ripping vinyl simpler! -Kenny D You could get a totally great turntable, amp/preamp, cartridge, and even USB converter...

Don't forget a good needle/caeridge!!! Start at $40. Figure the needle is the equivalent of getting a good mic. I have been most happy with Shure, but Grado and Audio Technica also make pretty good ones. The quality goes up pretty quickly with the price. If you want REALLY cheap, Harman/Kardon 330c ...
