For the most part, if you get it to a good tech, it shouldn't be a problem; less the capsule or transformer died somehow. Where are you located? I'm sure people can recommend a great tech. Don't be scared of mailing it to a good tech if you need to. My recommendation is John McCormack of Rainbow Ele...

Waves Platinum Bundle it is then; less someone else chimes in. I suppose the Diamond is the best bang for your buck, but I just want to make sure it's the best, sound-wise, Waves offers... Anotherwords, if it means I can have only a few plugin, in addition to the stock PT plugins, and three UAD plug...

I appreciate all the info... I haven't thought about a new system or plugins for at least 10-years, so I'm way out of the loop! Two last questions: 1. With around a $500 budget for other non-UAD plugins, should I just get a bunch of Waves (and which?) or get a bunch of cheap, but good plugins? -http...

So there's the stock Analog Classic Bundle and then there's an Analog Classic Pro Bundle? Would have never known! And EMT Classic Reverb Bundle or Lexicon 224?

UAD Twin Duo it is! Good call... Thanks guys! Besides the Classic Analog Bundle it comes with, what 3 plugins do you recommend, considering the project and how much UAD processing power I will have? I was thinking Ocean Way (for 1 or 2 instances), SSL E Channel Strip, but don't know for a third... M...

I'm very interested in the UAD stuff... I'm just very confused about it all. The Apollo Twin seems perfect, but somehow I have a feeling that's not all I would need to run their plugins. Do their plugins only use their processing power? I want to make sure I have way more than enough processing powe...

Pro Tools 12

I'm putting together a cheap Pro Tools setup, strictly for mixing a modern Folk/Folk-Rock/Americana/Pop project. I'm thinking a new iMac, Apogee Duet 2, Pro Tools 12, and up to $1k of plugins. Any recommendations on plugins? I'm still not clear what the stock PT12 plugins are. I'm use to mixing on a...

Insulated Concrete Form is what I was thinking too... Seems like a great starting-point. By the way, seems like your current studio is pretty nice! Would love to see it in person! I'm in Sacramento.

I agree... If you can't afford to take the risk, don't take the risk; buy the tried and true. Once you have enough tried and true for your applications and want to take a risk on the cheap or unknown, then go ahead and do it then!

Probably the best use for a 58 is as a prop anyhow... For the life of me, I've never understood how they've become a standard... Can't say I've ever had a positive experience with them on any level! A mic that is truly unusable for me, unless I take the windscreen ball off, essentially making it a 5...

If you're a brick & mortar (and online) PAD with a focus on boutique gear (say up to as big as UA or Manley), located right in the heart of some major music city (or any other place where you actually get tons of traffic to compare gear), then you're probably fine for the long-term future. But there...

Mostly 57 on top, but I'm looking forward to playing with the Miktek PM10 I've had for quite a while... I just picked up a discontinued Stedman N90 that I'm looking forward to try also. Sank-modded M260 on bottom. Sometimes add a LD Condenser on shell, like a Studio Projects C3. If I trust the drumm...

Would love the Bottle, but without the cash or some things you would probably be interested in, that are a fair trade, I'm interested in the 0-capsule, if you're interested in separating.
