or maybe them dudes are just deaf. I know I'm half deaf compared to some folks and I hate the ADA8000. Though honestly, is not the kind of thing that is apparent when you listen to it as just playback on single tracks. It more to do with how those tracks stack up. the test didn't use the preamps, a...

If you're making a stereo recording an amazing 'cellist, percussionist, or whatever-- and you are trying to get that holographic, "3D" thing where a listener in the sweet spot feels like they could reach out and embrace the performer-- then quality of converters suddenly becomes much more important...

Of course the only way to know for yourself what is important to you is to gain some experience. :) Thats the take away here, for sure. on the other hand, people buy all sorts of stuff to "improve" their sound, and then they "hear" the improvement. "its night and day!" but hearing is subjective (lo...

there is a massive behringer ada8000 shootout thread on gearslutz that you should probably read. pair that with one of those converter listening CDs, and i think you could form a pretty good opinion on how converter differences translate to "better" or "worse" audio. my personal opinion is that in t...

earthworks sr69, sr20 absolutely refuses to pop more than any hand held mic i have experience with. additionally, it has near 0 handling noise. decent rejection.

as far as the tone, it needs work. nothing particularly sweet about it, but you can sweeten later.

i have a similar ultratouch absorber. basically, i put homosote in the corner, screwed 2 foot wide sections in. then stuffed behind with ultra touch. and continued up the wall.

kinda off topic, but i really like the sound that bounces off of homosote. nice semi deadness.
