I've used transcend in mine, and it's worked well. I think you need to get Class 4 or higher.

the peavey raxx stuff is really cool. I've got the TBRaxx, it's a 2x 12ax7 bass preamp. Distorts very nicely. I actually like it a lot for tracking distorted drum room sounds with a hi impedance ribbon mic.
