my gut tells me that the recession is putting a world of hurt on the people selling gear. That goes for both the resellers and the manufacturers. When you're worried about money, that no-name Chinese guitar for $150 starts looking good compared to $500 for a mexi-strat, let alone >$1200 for an Amer...

great tip I wonder if they will work with the V6's and V600's as well? My V600's were fine until they touched somebody's pomade (greasy hair stuff). then the almost decade old vinyl or whatever it is just crumbled. This has been on my laundry list of boring things I need to upgrade fro a couple of ...

+1.

for $1k? Fool / money / parting. At that price point, I'd probably just pick up an onyx 800r.

I've used transcend in mine, and it's worked well. I think you need to get Class 4 or higher.

avoid used switchcraft, too many little parts to get lost. Unless you get a stellar deal on them, like free to $.25 a pop.

The $2 new neutriks from markertek are fine.

I've never heard the Fishman, but I have heard the Bose. I'm not a huge fan of Bose products, but for a simple PA for an acoustic guitarist and a couple other musicians who don't play very loudly, it really is a pretty impressive system. +1 on this. One gig experience with it only, but I used a pai...

the lead vocal.

Really.

Well, not quite, to put it more accurately, 'the most important sounds of the production'. Then build around that.

heavier microphone stands and/or sandbags would help you more than more durable clips.

this.

it should be:

instrument > 1/4" cable > amp modeller > 1/4" cable > mixer line input.

No need for a DI with these things.

I'd hang onto that mic. Also, 'thin' isn't a word that should come to mind with respect to using an m500 on guitars. It actually should have a lot of body to the sound. I'd pop the ball off the mic and look at the ribbon to check for sagging. If it is, I'd have enak or sank re-ribbon the thing. I've...

If he's learned how to make coffee and answer phones, he's pretty much learned what most internships teach. I would second this notion, expressly to contradict what Shane had to say. by way of advice, pound the pavement, hard. Make as many contacts as possible. We just had a woman come door to door...

I am frustrated because the PT 7.4 manual DOES indicate how to do this, only I don't know if it is possible with my 002 LE set-up. I tried for an hour or two to do this (mirror the main mix out to the spdif output in my case). You're right, the manual is very clear on how to do it, but unfortunatel...

the peavey raxx stuff is really cool. I've got the TBRaxx, it's a 2x 12ax7 bass preamp. Distorts very nicely. I actually like it a lot for tracking distorted drum room sounds with a hi impedance ribbon mic.
