Thanks to the both of you for your help. SureShot, I do plan on replacing all of the electrolytic caps. In the thread that crow linked to, someone with a similar problem to mine found that replacing a non-electrolytic did the trick. But yeah, I also plan on replacing some of the transistors too--lik...

Thanks, crow. All good info--what you provided and through the link. All of my D's are bad, so I think my initial problem is in the main oscillator too. I found a schematic online--and am trying to figure it out. I may be back with some follow-up questions. The only electronics work I have done (suc...

Farfisa Mini Compact Note problem

Hi there, I picked up a farfisa mini compact today and it is physically in great condition. It sounds great too--with the exception of all of the D notes. A sound is produced when I hit the note but very dischordant and rapidly pulsating. I am pretty sure I shouldn't do this but I pulled the D oscil...

Well you can daisy-chain them together so you can use either one of them at a time. I don't believe you can use them simultaneously though.

Hmm, I actually own both the Firebox and the Audiofire 12. Never thought to try to daisy chain them. I'll give it a shot tomorrow and let you know how it goes if nobody else is able to give you definitive info.

Looking for a studio in/around DC

Hi there. My band is looking to record 4 or 5 of our songs in the near future. We play rather primitive, raw, rock n' roll. Definitely a bit 60's inspired. We are 2 guitar players, bass, drums, vocals. We are hoping to find a place where we can record the basics live and which also has a vocal booth...

WTB Event 20/20 tweeter

If anyone is in a position to part-out a good tweeter from an Event 20/20, I'm in need.

Thanks.

Oy, thanks Nate.

Too bad unlike the mkI and III the mkII has an internal power supply. This machine has a bit of sentimental value to me. If I were to get a part 424 do you think a repair is possible? I have about a 60% track record with a soldering gun--which is to say I'm pretty terrible.

424 clicking/popping while recording

Hi, I brought my Tascam 424 mkII out of hibernation. Unfortunately it irregularly clicks/pops while I'm recording to it. This was a problem before I put it away for many years. It doesn't matter which track I'm recording to. The heads have been cleaned and demagged. The pops get recorded. Any ideas ...

so if there's no ads, how does bandcamp make money? do they think they can exist on just their percentage from sales of downloads? i know that sounds snarky but i'm asking sincerely. According to the site's FAQ: How much does Bandcamp cost? It's free. Free!? Then how are you going to stay in busine...
