This sounds pretty good, I think the production suits the songs. I've certainly bought similar style punk records that sounded equal or lesser in production value. Could probably be polished up a little, I'd like to hear the bass a little more clearly in the mix. Seems like you're on the right track...

I've owned a pair of Fathead II's and a pair of Shinybox 46MXC's and I prefer the Shinybox and ended up selling the Fatheads. Comparatively the Fatheads sounded a little more muddy/stuffy to my ears. They're both good though, in my opinion. I've used both for drum overheads (or for a mono OH or deco...

AxeTrak isolation cab for guitar

Bought new in November of 2008, still in good working condition and very nice cosmetically. Some of the lining is a little ragged around the corners, but I've also trimmed it up a little since I took these pictures. This is the original version. 1/4" input for speaker cable from amp, XLR output for ...

I've used pair of figure 8 mics spaced or in XY placement for drum overheads. It really depends on the room though. In all those cases it was a big room with a 14ft+ tall ceiling. In a smaller room it can sound pretty terrible. I've also used one figure 8 in front of and perpendicular to the kit for...

You're completely right, as long as the only genre in the future is auto-tuned electronic dance music (timeless!).

Wait for the twist though...MS Songsmith killed the music production industry in 2009. We were ghosts the whole time!

LePou released Lecto in AU format. It's the only one of his plug-ins available for mac right now, but he mentioned he might do an AU version of the new cab plug-in as well. Which would be cool, but no confirmation or release date currently.

FS: Markbass LMII bass amp

Markbass Little Mark II bass amp. 500W @ 4ohm, about 6 lbs, very loud and very light. Speakon and 1/4" outputs, effects loop and tuner out. Has an additional balanced input, so you can run any rack gear ahead of it or reamp from a line level output. Also an XLR direct out, currently set to post EQ v...

FS: Sage Electronics mic pres (2) + power supply

I have two Sage Electronics microphone preamps (SE-Pre1) and dual power supply (SE-PS2) for sale. Just had a broken pot replaced on one of the units w/ parts supplied by the manufacturer and service performed by a professional (read: "not me") and fully tested. Everything is still under warranty and...

Microphone choice and placement work best for me when trying to get the "fizz" out, assuming the guitar tone already sounds good in the room. I've had an Audix I5 on a cab, gotten a fizzy sound, moved it around a bit, gotten better but not enough and then tossed an SM7b in the same position and had ...

I was actually in a similar situation where my old space was temporary, but I tried to anticipate for the future when buying acoustic treatment. I bought 8 RealTraps BareTraps while I was still in my old warehouse, with the idea of rigging them up with stands to help control my mixing environment, b...
