woah

I'm in shock. I was a die hard tracktionite through versions 1,2 and 3 - but then Mackie seemed to leave it for dead. I made the switch to Reaper a few years ago, although have never fully warmed up (Reaper is great though). Tracktion users can all speak to something very different and comforting ab...

i'd be wary of the mpc 2000. I used one for around 4 years, and then sold mine 10 years ago because of the annoying external zip drive (or handy 3.5 inch drive ;) unless someone has somehow modified them to work with a usb connection right to your comp, or at least a usb flash drive of some sort - i...

UPDATE: seriously, i've tried to sell these for scratch when I first wanted to get rid, and nobody bite. so...... to my fellow tape-opers - i offer you these for $0! You have to pick them up (in Brooklyn NY) or pay for shipping. These never sustained any physical damage, drops, bumps - one day I jus...

Oops, sorry about forgetting the link, i was posting from the iPad, and all i had handy was the app store link. We used this as a drum machine the other night. There may be tiny latency, I didn't notice (although there are three latency settings) but I'm not using it to trigger live hits. The sounds...

neon bible was also a great album. my point was the number 2 record when suburbs hit #1 was Eminem. Merge may be a big indie, but it doesn't spendnearly the kind of cash on marketing and payola that Eminem's label does. to be number 1, at this time in america, and be independent from the bs of corpo...

funkbox for ipad

Funkbox. I must say, this app is awesome. 6 or 7 vintage drum machines, pattern sequencer, mixer' wav and midi export, and cheap. Cant wait for more dedicated simple apps like this, totally interchangeable with the real thing.

Yeah, time is up after being number one on an indie label with about .05 percent of the marketing dollars of the number 2 record? Doubt it. It's critically and popularly acclaimed as one of their best works, but it is true that not everyone is expected to like it.

right, but they wanted the aesthetic of vinyl - its not about preserving the perfect mastered clarity. i have dennis wilson's pacific ocean blue - one set of mp3's that were from the real cd, and the mp3s that i ripped from my vinyl copy. of course they are both digital - one has been pretty poorly ...

i found a pristine one of these on ebay for 130 http://www.vintage-audio.com.ua/en/cat/187/2664.html?begin=11 and while its no pro tape machine by any stretch, its pretty amazing for warming things up, you can easily run things through it and use it as a very basic tape echo. its built rock solid wi...

thanks for this. i've been looking for something like the elements package for demo work, or scratch synth, keys, percussion. i can't always drag my drummer and myself out to williamsburg when i have an idea. i was almost set to buy the abby road 60s, but i noticed this has one of the 2 kits, and th...
