ah, I knew I wasn't readin it right =) I would recommend the last of the above options :D http://www.shinybox.com/product_info.php?products_id=37 That's exactly the Hamptone JFET amp block with a 1K pot hanging off the output, driving a 1:1 output transformer. On the input side, strap a 10M resistor...

Next question is what TM018 you have. The mouser spec sheet has about a dozen part numbers. You're looking for something that matches the rough characteristics of the JT DBE used in the jensen schematic, which is 200k:1.5k (12:1) On the spec sheet you posted from mouser above, about the closest matc...

Here's a project I just completed based on some parts scrounged from ebay, and a power supply I had sitting here. This involved remachining the back for IEC connector, drilling out the holes for the larger TRS connectors, installation of leds and power switch. I'll follow up in a while with what goe...

Hey Jon, How are you checking the phase on your mics? Do you mean just visually checking the waveform to assure that the mic isn't wired out of phase? What about more subtle variations from mic to mic? I am going to mod one of my mics (and the other if it works out) and I want to establish the "bef...

Are you referring to the JFet mic pre article? There was a simple mix bus diagram showing line input feeding a 10K pot feeding the JFET gain block. Second page at the bottom. I'd post a link, but I know the page is on the group diy site, just there's some db corruption keeping the search feature fro...
