Stereo Ribbon Mic
A year ago I bought the Cascade X-15 Stereo Ribbon Mic, http://www.cascademicrophones.com/cascade_X-15.html with the Lundahl Transformer, and I really love it. I was pretty sold on the saxophone sample they have on the site, and it sounds every bit as good if not better in my studio. I use it most a...

Two comps, one vocal
I usually use an 1176 4:1, fast attack, fast release, never grabbing more than 3dB, then Retro Sta-Level on slow attack, fast release, never grabbing more than 3dB, and it always sounds great.
I make adjustments for unusual singers, but that is the usual.

Nope, you can run the Lynx in 32 or 16. Neither worked. There is a known issue running 2 lynx 16's as aggregate. From what I understand, each lynx actually has 32 voices and thus PT Native sees 2 lynx's as 72 voices and that is not supported by Native. I know they are working on a workaround for thi...

I actually am daisy chaining now that I am back on my TDM card, and the units are stable. You have to run the units in 16 channel rather than 32 channel mode though. I have spoken a lot with Paul at Aurora about this. Great guy, great company. The Avid tech took over my computer over the net and I t...

They both have their own digilink cable and HD Native port. You are suggesting I try two new cables? Maybe you already swapped out your digilink cables, but if you haven't then you should. I had the same problem with some 192s awhile back and it turned out to be a bad digilink going to the first 192...

HD Native, a warning.
Recently upgraded to an HD Native system, and it really has disappointed me. It works just fine with one Lynx Aurora 16 channel converter, but the second I tried to involve a 2nd unit, it went bananas and gave me one error message after another. I updated the firmware on the lynx converters to the l...

dbx 160a Compressor Like New $200 PRICE DROP
This is a great compressor, it has been in my smoke-free studio for 6 months. I am selling to pay property taxes. Sad to see it go, but the bills must be paid. Comes with original box, manual power cable, and registration card. These sell for 300 on eBay. I would like to get 200 for it. First here w...

Great! Nice to hear that things are working out for you. Just so that you know, nothing is stable in the full time job world either. They can cut you and ship that job to India in a moments notice and not give a crap. That must be great to find a space not out of the way to set up shop where people...

I'd love that! RedRedRocket@Gmail.com Really glad things are working out for you, Raymond. I was in a dark place myself when you originally posted this thread, financially I mean. No work. But shortly after I got an offer to go on the road with a band based in LA and things have been going really we...
