yeah. transformers measuring open are no bueno! my guess is that they saw voltage. i think the 603 was a cathode follower output that goes to the xfmrs in the psu housing, right? so, wire up the tube, and before wiring to the transformer, check the primary leads. you shouldn't see any voltage on the...

fs: white 4400 eq - inductor based 28 band - $120 shipped
moving, moving, moving, pulling from the rack... white 4400 inductor eq. 10db of cut or boost, plus a few overall shelf volume pots (see pics). it's awesome for fine tuning anything - especially vocals - that need the right type of EQ to sit somewhere in the mix. that's what i used it for, anyways. ...

edcor phantom power transformer - up to 1A!
http://www.edcorusa.com/p/938/lvp40-1-120 I've got one from a project that took a different route. Rectifies and makes a phantom power supply for a mixer, or preamp, or whatever. It's about as big as your fist. Built awesome. Edcor rocks. I waited about 5-6 weeks for them to make this one (edcor is ...

oh boy! (oh boy....) so, perhaps the crux of all of this is to start measuring something that hasn't been measured analytically yet? is this the only way for a scientific community of any sort to accept the shamanistic approaches to the world? (i speak flagrantly here...) but, seriously, Dakota on p...

study basic electronics. you'll need it for the analog world, which needs a little upkeep... but it's servicable... analog - smooth, unchopped-up reality. vibey, hissy, real. do it as much as you can. don't let it get too in the way of just recording great music that you and the world needs. yet, tr...

so, i love super vibey stuff. 414's have been some of the least favorite mics i've ever used. good for close mic toms, though! (that's a good bearing). the AT stuff sounds good, but after extended time with them, i'd say a little non-3d sounding with kinda hashy treble that at first seems 'gently ac...
