Re: Importing Pro Tools I/O Setup

Is there anyway to simply import all of the saved I/O settings at once? Yes there is. At least in Pro Tools 9. Hold down Option when you press the import button, then select your setup and you should be good to go. I'd really recommend doing this one tab at a time, though. It doesn't take that long...

I find it interesting that a drummer would prefer "audience perspective." no one listens to records imagining they're standing behind the amps, right? yeah yeah, lefty drummers, yeah yeah 'how would you pan stereo piano?', i know i know. leave me to my dogma. I'm not dissing audience perspective. I...

so many questions! MSE, how doya pan them omnis? hard left and right. hats on the right, like you're looking at the kit. because the other way is WRONG. I find it interesting that a drummer would prefer "audience perspective." On a completely different note, I always find it strange when people pan...

Pricier than the 3 options you mentioned, but the Audient ASP008 would be pretty sweet.

Under the Options menu you'll see Edit Window Scrolling with several different scrolling options. "Insertion Follows Playback" (the button just below the pencil tool) also affects the playhead behavior. IMO multi-lane editing in Pro Tools still has a ways to go before it is anywhere near as good as ...

Actually now that I think about it I think Logic will pop up an error if the frame rates don't match and give you the option to conform to the incoming rate. Can't remember for sure...been a while since I did any sync with Logic.

Also, make sure Logic is looking for the same frame rate you printed on the tape. Logic is set to 25 fps by default.

If the time code on your tape starts at 00:00:00:00 your problem may be that Logic is waiting to start until 01:00:00:00. Try changing your session start time to 00:00:00:00 in Logic and see what happens.

But the idea is once you upload the files (be it an entire project, or just one session), it can be quickly downloaded by someone else due to the lossless compression, right? That and the fact that it gives you an off-site backup in addition to the external HD or DVD or whatever you back up to. The...

I tried putting up an old session from 2008 that's about 5GB and was somewhat underwhelmed with the transfer speed. Hard to judge by one transfer, though of course. Looks like it could be a great service, depending on price, especially for those that may not have an FTP server and need to send sessi...
