issue solved: cut my existing 25' cable into to 12.5' cables, keeping the spring locks on the mic end, and replacing them on the P/S end with standard thumb screw db9s. next issue: noise: The new mic sounds amazing. My old one sounds similar, but with a much higher noise floor, a bit lower output, a...

Thanks everyone, I've done this before I just can't remember how I did it in the past. I'm just curious why when I set the 002's clock to internal and try to use the ADA8000 as a slave why I get no signal. Anybody? you have to run a 2nd lightpipe cable from the 002r adat output into the adat input ...

Hello.. I had to run mine this way because the monitor outs from my console was unbalanced 1/4".. So I ended up going: unbalanced 1/4" from console to 1/4" -10 input Ebtech, to 1/4" TRS balanced out of Ebtech to XLR input of power amp..Works fine..! Not saying it's not right for you, I am saying fo...

What difference will I hear going from an Ebtech Hum Eliminator to an Ebtech Line Level Shifter? Will things sound clearer and more defined and stuff? ..The signal will be hotter ( what I noticed). I actually had the Eliminator first, but exchanged it for the Shifter..Took less gain to get up to vo...

Also, did you try to contact groove tubes? they're really good about that stuff and may have some spares lying around. I did. It's now a part of fender, and any legacy support is spotty at best. GT also liquidated their warehouse at the time of the sale, so fender didn't get much, if any, old parts...

I'd track lower too. you gaining very little resolution by tracking this hot, and you run a much greater risk of digital overs. If you're happy with the way everything sounds and don't want to alter the gain staging on the preamps, you could go to "lo gain", which will pad the signals down a bit on ...

Thanks for the input JWL! The suggestions you've made are not terribly far off of how I have the panels arranged in the room . I'll take a look more specifically (ie with tape measure) as to how close / far away from the suggestions on Ethan's page I am, and post another diagram with the studio furn...

Groove Tubes Model 1 / 2 / 2b 9-pin d-sub cable needed.
Anybody know a source for these? Just scored an original model 2 that came without a cable. I know it's just a straight through db9 m-f, but I'd love to get the spring locking connectors for this. Not a problem to roll my own if anybody knows where to source the connectors themselves.
TIA

Acoutics advice. I know it's been done to death, but...
I'd still love some advice. This is my space: http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u135/newfuturevintage/studiolayout.jpg The floor is carpet (I believe with asbestos tile under), the long walls are lath and plaster, the short walls are wood paneling. The closet is also wood paneling with a sliding do...

I did a session years back at a studio (that quickly went under). It was a favor to a friend's band. When I got to the studio, the owner/operator was unable to competently route signal around his room. Largely due to horrible / unlabeled / nonsensically arranged patchbay. Instead of offering to help...

Re: Just got a DA7 - So Many Questions - Help?!
I just received my DA7 off ebay yesterday. I had to build a new table for it and I've got it plugged in, but I've got a couple issues with it that I don't know who else to ask? 1) The mixer arrived with a plastic corner broken off in the back. The box was almost falling apart when I received it. Sh...
