Even at 96K, our friend Nyquist dictates the highest waveform you can sample is 48K ;) Trying to create 60K-80K tones to test a 96K AD/DA is rather pointless. Furthermore, for a PLUG-IN to create an 80KHz signal, you'd need to be running at 160KHz and up sample rates... Look for some downloadable 96...

I'm still on the fence with mine. They have an odd "bite/zing" in the highs that I can't quite put my finger on. It actually sounds like it might be the DSP mucking something up around 4-5K, but I can't tell for sure (sounds "plastic-y" if that makes sense). Definitely NOT a crappy pair of cheap mon...

"Low Latency Scaling"

One of the most improtant aspects of the "interface" is stability and latency (as mentioned), but also the Drivers' ability to "scale well" at low latencies with lots of I/O and DSP happening. RME are basically kings of that domain, and other interfaces can fall well behind at low latencies. Of cour...

Topic: Power amps as headphone amps? (Professor Jeremy?)

FWIW - I use a pair of Lectrosonics "PA-8" 8-Channel Power Amps to drive 8 independent stereo headphones (4 pairs per amp) directly from each amp channel (no resistors or other stuff between the cans and the amp's outputs). While the voltage of this lower power power-amp (10wpc @ 4 Ohms x8 ) is not ...
