I think you're right. I did some more research and compared it as best I could to another shell (premier) that I have around that I know is maple and the Ludwig (along with all of my other Ludwig drums) looks to be mahogany. Through some more research I found that all of the "original" Ludwig 3-ply ...

Hey, I don't have a whole lot to add as I don't know a ton about any of this, but I just bought this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814144214 for my girlfriend for her birthday a little over a month ago. She had one of those cheap-o things you can get at Radio Shack and Best B...

Completely original and the wrap looks great. I hate to sell it because it fits in so well with my blue sparkle set ('65) and sounds great, but I am stupidly excited about getting this Club Date set I just got and can't really afford it, hence the sale of this tom. The date stamp is 1962, so that is...

SOLD: Ludwig Blue Sparkle 12x8 Keystone tom - $180 shipped

Hi, This is a tom I picked up to go along with my blue sparkle set. It's great, but have just purchased a club date set and can't justify having so many drums around (and need the money to help pay for the club date). Here are just a few pictures: http://www.tobotrecords.com/ludwig%20tom%20whole.JPG...

Thanks for posting the clips and pictures workshed. Sounds good. How high up is the Overhead mic? I don't think I could see it in any of the pictures. I saw the stand and cable, but don't think I saw the mic. Were the OH and side mic the same distance from the snare? Just curious. The song sounds co...

I second the Hamptone JFET, especially if you have the input transformer wired 8:1 (as opposed to 4:1). I originally had both channels wired for 8:1 since I have a few ribbon mics (1 Oktava, 2 Tape Op Group Buy) thinking they would need it. I've since rewired them 4:1 and still have tons of gain. I ...

brad347, The kick does seem slightly more audible, especially in the areas where there is less going on in the mix. I think the sound (of the kick) really fits the song, but could use just a bit more volume in the overall mix. I really think it would make the bass (guitar) sound even better... which...

Brad, That's a really cool song. The drums sound great. I really like the way the drums and bass interact. The only thing I don't think I am hearing enough of is kick. I haven't really been able to listen to it at a decent level, but I can't pick out the kick. The guitars sound great! All your sound...

WindowSills, The mic in the picture looks like an AKG D12 in a shockmount. I can't find any pictures of a D12 in a shockmount right now to post, but I have a feeling that is what that is. brad347, The clips sound great! Better each time, although I think my favorite is the one with the Oktava as the...

John, I'm planning on going with OC 703, but putting a frame around it thinking that would make it easier and more versatile for mounting. As I'm not able to do this as a permanent install I was thinking this would be the best way to hang it, leave a small "foot print" when not up, and be pretty muc...

Awesome. Thanks for posting this. This is pretty much the exact same thing I'm going to be doing sometime in the next few months when I get the money for it. I've been thinking of doing a "frame" type of build as you described. Glad it is working. I'm thinking of doing this mainly for my "tracking" ...

Thanks, RodC!
That is exactly what I was looking for. I didn't even think of the Cakewalk forums. I haven't been over there in a long time. Thanks for reminding me to head over there.

Problem solved.
Thanks

Help with dual monitor set up and SONAR 3.1.1

Hi everyone, So I've finally got a spare monitor to mess with and use the Matrox G450 Dual Head video card I bought a few years ago. I understand how to get one thing from one monitor to another without a problem. My question is, is it possible and to have dual screens of SONAR 3.1.1 going on? I tho...

And don't forget that unless you are going to do a "local pick up only" type auction, you are going to have to figure a way to safely ship that beast. I'd say try taking it to a local music shop that will let you put it on consignment and throw an ad up on your local craigslist and on the surroundin...
