I dream of creamy cymbal sounds. No idea how to get them though.

I agree about the subforms especially with the amount of traffic. It can make more sense when the forum traffic is really high.

I've only recently started posting again because I had largely stopped recording when my daughter was born five years ago. I'm finally getting to the point where I can get some time in the basement again and I also made the brilliant decision to ditch the computer and get a portable multi track that...

Had rehearsal last night, have a gig tomorrow. I'm hoping I'll get a chance to work on some overdubs tomorrow, but time for music is in short supply.

Get in an extra rehearsal before recording.

Lots of great stuff was done live in a room. The best stuff of I've done was recorded live with either no separation or just some gobos. The separation and meticulous thing is cool too, but I'd rather just have the band cranking in a room together with bleed.

Are you going to a studio? Or are you recording at home? If you are going to a studio it's nice to not have to wear both hats. (performer and engineer) I'd say just relax and have a good time. There's nothing better then playing in a decent live room and vibing off of the other players. It's also ni...

Picked up a ART Pro VLA II used from GC. Pretty cool so far. I've tried it on my vocals and on a mix I'm working on and it sounds good to me.

Two records that are not super out there or anything, but definitely capture their own sonic space are Grace Jones album Warm Leatherette and Deborah Harry's album Koo Koo.

This is totally up my alley. Would just like to hear some vocals. I like how the Sundance song is definitely shoe gaze, but at the same time is much perkier than most shoe gaze.

Fun production and the drums sound great. I also recently recorded real drums for the first time in a long time and it really is just so much better and more fun.

i could see what you are saying about the intro as I liked the drum sound better in the main part of the song. Overall though I thought it sounded good.
