Re: Hughes & Kettner Red Box
What Joel said! One of the great things about the Redbox is that the guitar sounds very "close up" if that makes sense. Maybe not the right thing for more spacious recordings.....or maybe really cool...but it beats the crap out of a good many cabinets you run into. Sometimes we've printed an ambient...

Re: Decendents "Everything Sucks" Guitar sound
E-Cue.... thanks again. Without a doubt Wallace had a big hand in it. I asked him what he thought of the Red Box, and he said that after he took a lot of midrange out of it, he thought it worked well.

Re: Decendents "Everything Sucks" Guitar sound
Everything Sux was recorded with a 73 Les Paul Deluxe, routed out, with 70's Ibanez humbuckers installed...a Marshall 50 watt JCM 900, and a Hughes and Kettner Red Box DI. Re: ceiling height question.....please help.
Thanks for the help so far...those calculators should be a big help too. As it stands, the room is 14.4 feet wide, and the ceiling height is about 20 feet. I am building the other walls, but only have room for about 16 feet. I could also do a lower ceiling height if that would help anything. Any mor...

ceiling height question.....please help.
I leased a building recently which is very small, but has high ceilings. I have to build walls within the structure for soundproofing, but am not sure how high to set the ceiling with such a small room. I know there are measurments to try to make the room have the nearest to ideal dimensions for sou...

Re: beat detective:an industry failsafe or helpfull tool
It seems like those who would entirely rule out click tracks/beat detective must be recording a lot of great drummers. I agree that the unrealistic "perfection" of a lot of modern recording is annoying to listen to, but what are you supposed to do when you get a really crappy drummer and only a few ...
