I have been wondering about those things.. seems like a fun idea.. a pre-preamp... how many would i have to stack up in series to not use a mic pre at all? ;) My impression is they run off phantom power, which is actually pretty brilliant. It prevents the dynamics from being damaged by the annoying...

Rode D Power Plug - Experiences?

Hey Gang,

I was considering buying this for quieter sources with an SM7 and my old shure ribbon mic. My only real concern is a loss of signal integrity and added noise. Any good or bad experiences to share?

and, the "concrete benefit" of digipacks is that 99% of people in the world prefer them to shitty broken jewel cases. if you can't afford to put your record out in digipacks, that's cool... but, don't try to rationalize it by pretending that packaging doesn't matter. If digipacks were free I'd use ...

I would just like to put in a good word for cd forge in portland. Really cheap, you can do the artwork all digital (no dealing with film and other annoying printing related shit) and really nice guys to deal with. I was completely happy and will be using them indefinitely. I personally think that di...

What are you using it for? I can't imagine very many situations where it's useful to have more boutique preamps than mics.

I seem to remember Adam Kasper engineered it. I think he did alot of Pearl Jam, Nirvana, etc stuff, not what you'd expect.

FS or FT: AKG and Fender Eric Clapton Sig. Strat

Hey all, AKG Perception 100: They threw this mic in for free on large online purchase. It's still shrink wrapped and I don't know much about it other than it retails for around 100 bucks. Make me an offer. Fender Eric Clapton Signature Stratocaster: What more can I say? Great sounding and looking gu...

Worked at Tower Records in the U-Dist for a year from February 95'-March 96' and a lot of people came through their, by far my favorite was Money Mark (B-Boys keyboard player), he is one laid back cat and really easy to talk to. Also Chris Baloo came in there, and we almost pulled off a Wesley Will...

Right now, and definitely once you're 18, you shouldn't run into too much trouble in bars. You're usually there early enough to set up that there's nobody at the door, and assuming you look legit no one will think to ask. Out of alot of club dates as a minor I only had real trouble at one.

What do you use for pop filters?

Hey gang,

I have a little extra dough and I'm wondering if there's any real advantage to pro pop filters over the old nylon and coathanger routine. Do you have any favorite products or styles? (Mesh or Metal?)

Thanks much,

Those EC strats are tight. Kind of my favorite out of Fender's current lineup and the neck is great with a little v-shape, right? You could prolly scrape off the signature pretty easily which would immediately make the guitar twice as cool. True, I would say the neck is it's biggest asset. I must s...
