Re: Why are movies so damn dynamic? (this is not a rant)

yeah it's nice except at home when I'm always reaching for the remote. It's great if you have a sweet home theatre setup and can just crank movies, but not so great just watching them on a regular tv.

Re: How many people use external Hard Drives...

you know, for years i've been able to do that, but it seems like the new osx or pt version won't allow that. i hear this stuff about going to the "workspace " and making it an authorized drive but i can't seem to find it. yeah, it's doable... you go to the workspace via one of the menus in the tool...

Re: Help! How to sell gear using PayPal? What is your experie

FYI...if you outright ask the customer to pay your paypal fee, or charge any sort of surcharge to cover paypal fees, paypal will not protect to integrity of the sale. paypal has a list of rules that must be followed to be covered by their seller protection policy. one of the rules is: Do not charge...

FYI, you can chain a FW drive off of your 002. No problem.

Re: Help! How to sell gear using PayPal? What is your experie

In my experience, with paypal, if a buyer says you didn't ship or it was damaged, if you have a tracking number of any kind that you can enter in to prove you shipped it, you're ok. But, I've heard horror stories the other way too. Best way to go would be making the buyer purchase insurance and use ...

Re: eyeglass wearing people: should these hurt?

In my 4-5 pairs of glasses that I've had it is usually related to farme/lens weight. They maybe tried to sell you on some super light lens and you thought, "Oh that's not necessary... a waste of money..." well, it's totally worth it. The lighter the frame/lens combo, the easier they are to wear for ...

Re: Pro Tools question

taking a stab because this answer comes up a lot... if you are on PT 6.x on a Mac (and maybe windows, I don't know) you have to qualify all of your drives for transfer, record, or playback. You do this in the workspace window... go to that window (it's under some menu to the right... display maybe?)...

Re: How many people use external Hard Drives...

The thing is I can't use an extra internal drive. I just bought the iMac G5 and there is no room for an internal drive only external firewire. So, I have no choice. Anyone know where there is a good deal on an external. Everywhere I've checked is pretty pricey. well, the cheapest deals I have found...
