Here's some motivation. I made a short MP3 of where our choir stands at the moment. It's getting there...

Hey Chris,

I have the 18V "A" revision. I'm going to see if I can figure out what's going on with it tonight and report back. The darn thing was working just fine a couple days ago too. Bummer.

My web guy might have made a mistake with the file names. Let me look into it. It was working but I had him update a file.

I just checked. You're right--both files are the same. Which is not what it should be. I'll get it straightened out.

thanks,
Brad

If you download the second track using the "choir" link you will get a solo'd track of just the vocals I need sung. If you import both the "mix" and "choir" files into your DAW then you can hear the vocal part in the context of the mix. You just sing the "ahh" part. Let me know if you are still conf...

A new problem...

I've been making some progress on the erase issue. Having the oscilloscope has definitely helped. And using the hum shield too. Duh. Now I seem to have developed a rather annoying problem. If I rewind tape such that it spools off the take-up reel, neither motor stops, but instead the reel of tape sp...

Thanks man. I'm pretty excited about this and hope it works out as cool as it does in my head.

If anyone is currently recording a band, see if they wouldn't mind laying down vocal track too. The more, the merrier.

thanks,
Brad

Help sing on my band's album!

Hi, My band is nearing completion of recording/mixing our full length album. Along the way I've been using a lot of tips and tricks I've picked up from reading TapeOp or from attending TapeOpCon over the years. There's just one thing left to do and we want lots of people to help make it happen. We'd...

Okay the locator seems to work now that I jiggled the connections and sprayed some contact cleaner. The erase head wrap should be about perfect since I had the heads relapped and optically aligned by JRF Magnetics. My damn MCI JH110 is still driving me crazy though. Can someone please measure the RM...
