I know..... I won't stop caring, I was just projecting...... I just want it to stop!!! I don't mind if anyone uses any of my words,....... in fact, I welcome it. The more the merrier. by the way, if anyone has it, put the newest Killers record in and watch the meters......... not only is it the wors...

For the records I've been doing this with, I've had the artist print the following on either liner notes or back cover: "This compact disc was mastered at a lower volume in order to retain the natural dynamic range of the final mixes, unlike the majority of commercial recordings." Some have taken of...

I agree SpaceEcho...... the thing that really sucks though, is that Dave Fridmann won a Grammy for the new Lips record as "best engineered record", and to me, that will only validate this blatant problem..... I;ve actually already heard people say "Yeah, but Dave Fridmann does it, and he won a Gramm...

Sorry to diverge, but I think this record is pretty mediocre...... songs and sonics.... I thought the furst record was way overrated, so I'm not a fan.... but I think it sounds awful..... it's like gratuitous "lo-fi"...... just my .02 I just think the "left field " pop thing is overdone, and pretent...

Just got me a HOG, after loving my POG for a couple years....... the HOG is equally cool, and different. The POG does a lot of things well, but the HOG is really a FUCKO machine..... just fuck things up with it. The chord hold thing is interesting, and the filters are great. Haven't used it a ton ye...

My optigan did similar things when I first bought it, but my tech has done limited work on it. He cleaned all the contacts, and put a line level output inplace of the headphone output, and it sounds far better. The line level output to me is the key, because the built in speaker sounds like shit.......

I normally use limiting and compression as effect more than affect...... that being the case, I compress often...... I usually slam ambient mics quite a bit..... lightly limit the overhead(s), and vocals always get some..... bass gets it almost as a rule, as does guitar..... most people say it's unn...

B&Ws are great speakers..... I've been using "audiophile" Audio Note speakers as monitors for a long time, with very good results.... B&Ws really speak well with a larger tube amp, like an Audio Research or Sonic Frontiers...... One thing I don't like is that some of the higher echelon audiophile mo...
