shows up on my phone, tho it's hard to see much detail. what's the box below the 2bx? how is your altec set up? use mine as a summer/DI, with six 600 ohm inputs and two 15k's. just picked up the shure boxes on the board and the 'bay this spring. modded the m68 to function as 3 standalone dual stage...

The Low Cut switch just shorts across the cap to take it out of circuit. So if you clip the cap when you turn on the low cut it will disconnect from the buss, but there is still signal present on the preamp side of the switch. I don't have mine open to tell you which place to put the wire, but it's ...

From our friends on the TV show Newsradio: [Catherine is recording on a recorder Joe made himself] Joe: Hold it. I'm hearing some background noise. Catherine Duke: I don't hear anything. Joe: It's like a clicking noise. Take off your bracelets, that might help. [Catherine does] Joe: Now take off you...

I recently modded an M267 for a guy and I just clipped the high pass cap and wired where it is from the switch to a direct out on three of the channels. So now when the switch is in normal position everything goes to the bus, when the low cut is on it cuts it from the bus and only does the direct o...

That's totally fine.honkyjonk wrote:Hey folks,
This is in regard to the 'ol RodC modification of an Akai M8 amp. I'm replacing the multicap filter cap (2X20uF 350V) What I have in the drawer is a couple 33uF 450V caps. These should be fine right?

I have a Sunn Beta cab that is basically the same cab except horizontal, Fender also made a 4x15 and a 4x12 that are the same deal except an inverted pyramid and are some of the hugest sounding cabs I've played through. The reason they build the cab like that is because it puts the centers of the sp...

Cool idea Darlington! I'm a bit of newb, so sorry if this is a stupid question. But is it true that when using the direct out feature, the pres are functioning as a transformerless pre? But when using the mixing buss, they're using the transformer? The input transformer and amp are still active, bu...

Re: Whatta difference a toob makes
Aiight, two toobs. I just replaced the whatever EL84's in my tweedy Pro, Jr. with some JJ's I got used ("less than 30 hours!") on the E-bog for like US$16 - WOW! 8) 8) 8) 8) JJs are awesome, run all my amps on them. I agree, I'm really loving JJ's lately. The JJ803s might be my favorite 12ax7 varia...
