Awww he didn't have to say it out loud. We knew what he was thinking.

Re: We'ze gonna have ourselves a hangin!

A religious pro-death penalty pro-war in Iraq poster on a completely unrelated to tapeop messageboard was confronted by an opponent to his views who pointed out that one of the ten commandments is "thou shall not kill." I'm paraphrasing here, but the religious nut basically wrote back that the actua...

I almost just want to buy it so I can slam his feedback rating to punish him for trying to trick people. But I guess if you're the type who is too stupid to see that just because something is "vintage" doesn't mean it's also a sought after item then you deserve what you get.

Re: any english majors?

Yeah, it sounds like that is one point we disagree on--whether or not WS was in touch with the masses. Everyone hears that the Globe was teeming with "groundlings" slobbering near the stage, but I've also heard they were just there for the sword fights. If WS's language was not elevated in its day, ...

Re: any english majors?

And yeah, that is true, but it can't make me cry or even come close because it all seems so cognitive and analytically produced. All the phrases seem too carefully chosen to me. There is no spontaneity so everything seems contrived and artificial. I hate to get in the middle of King Kong vs. Godzil...

Re: any english majors?

Shakespeare was one of the cleverest, most talented writers who has ever lived. but I've always felt he was a little over-rated. Why? Because the prose style is so heightened it is inhuman. Didactics will say, no, just get into it and you will see how the dialogue touches on all these themes regardi...

Re: any english majors?

I became a Comm major because it was one of the easiest ones in the course guide (just 27 hours  , and it involved taking some media classes. The media classes were great. I learned the basics of sound waves, light waves and recording and even got to make a few short movies. My college basica...

Re: Anyone here ever organize/take part in a $ compilation

A bandmate and I put together a compilation last year. It had twenty one tracks by twenty one bands. We asked each band for $60 and put in some extra $ on our own. Everybody got twenty copies to sell for the agreed upon price of $5 each. We sold some on consignment at record stores, who were all qui...

I'm working on some mixes for my band Eyes to Space. I'd appreciate some feedback. We're going for a John Henry era They Might Be Giants aesthetic.
