Re: Jandek documentary film at SXSW
i'm dying to see that. for those of you who are unfamiliar with jandek, check out: http://tisue.net/jandek/ it's completely comprehensive on everything that is jandek. lyrics and everything. my favorite is the whole album that's one chord, plucked at different rhythms and him wailing over it. i forg...

Re: focusrite liquid anyone test driven it.
I saw this thing at AES and was totally pumped to check it out. To my surprise, they never once put anything through it. They just talked about it. And showed a video about it. And told the theory behind it. And played a tape of engineers who use it and love it. And so on. and so on. I am interested...

Re: STUPIDEST BAND NAME YOU'VE EVER HEARD?

I have a lot of friends in a band called the Juan Prophet Organization . Other than that, you can just ask any hardcore kid ...

Re: Phone Mic Article
do you think that one of you could post how to build this mic for those of us that don't have hte article? Find one of the old type phones, preferably the rotary dialing kind. You can throw everything but the handset away. Unscrew the handset mouthpiece and detach the phone cable running to the ele...

Phone Mic Article
I forget the issue, but there was a nice little aside about how to build a phone mic . I thought the idea was pretty cool, so I put a couple of them together. I recently tracked with one, and placed it on the snare(!) drum pretty close-up. The result was ridiculous. A huge, distorted mess. I loved i...

Any internships in the Nashville area?
I'm a student at one of the local recording schools around Nashville ( MTSU in Murfreesboro, actually). I've had experience on large format, small format and digital consoles (analog and digital tape formats), as well as ProTools, DP3, DP4, Reason, and other software platforms. I've had experience w...
