You might try taking them out of the folder you made and putting them directly into that plugins folder. It might be the extra folder you made. Just a possibility.

This is great -- thanks! I've just had time to mess around a bit, but so far the varispeed built into the master track suggest to me that this is going to get some real use (I've been reading the Recording the Beatles book, so of course I'm going to have some fun experimenting with this). This looks...

Having a simple phase flip seems nice too. I work in Logic Express, where there is none on the channel strip.

I'll be interested to see if they can make it through an entire tour together. There are some pretty healthy egos in that band. Aside from the amazing talent of each member, the tension between them was one of the things that made them such a great live act. They were a great stadium show band, and ...

I've always gone laptop > interface > drive with no problem that a reboot couldn't fix. About a year ago I switched to using a USB2 drive instead of firewire, so I'm not daisy chaining anymore.

Tedium is the grandfather of brilliance, if you ask me.

Does that mean that Autotune is the retarded daughter of necessity?
Thanks, you almost made me spit coffee all over my monitor.

Didn't someone post a while back and quote a revered engineer they watched at work say something like "if it's a good guitar use your crappy mic, and if it's a bad guitar use your good mic," or something to that effect?

I'd start with some flatwounds if you've currently got roundwounds on that bass.

Logic Express (and I assume Pro too) has a "spreader" plugin in its modulation section -- and I always wondered about it since I've never associated that name with any of the other phaser and flanger and chorus effects I'm more used to as a guitar player.

Re: Need help with a guitar tone

I'm not sure if this helps, but a good part of that sound seems to be in the way Joe Walsh is playing. To me it sounds like a strat with a vibrato bar, and he's working the vibrato while he's picking and strumming the strings. Let some of the open strings ring/drone, and add some compression to smoo...

what instrument is that?

Hi there,

I'm listening to Pet Sounds this morning, and finally have to know what that solo instrument is on "Hang On To Your Ego." I remember hearing it on the "Green Acres" TV show theme song as well.

Another vote for the White Album -- man I love the vocal sounds on that album, and the drums too.
