.... and 2. irrational fear. "irrational fear" or maybe just (like the OP is saying) that it is exceedingly annoying to have to drag everything into iTunes just to get it onto a phone . sure it is possible to jailbreak to get around this hurdle. etc. but [incorrect statements about aiff conversion ...

The loss of the off-topic section has resulted in a steady population decline on this board. As Joel H and others have said, there's only so many times you can be interested in a thread about "what's the best X for $Y?". Off-topic keeps people hanging around when there's not much substantial going ...

say, what program did you use to do that image in your first post? it's nifty. i have done the garage buildout thing once and i am about to do it again in the exact same garage. we had renovations such that it made sense to scrape it all out and start over. here is what i learned: i learned that i c...

although: in the prosumer/project studio realm, i am dazzled by the look of the new mackie onyx 820i. these products aren't top level audio, but for getting things done around the house, they look like they'd perform great.

EDIT it looks like this thing only has 2 outputs to the DAW. never mind

i have gotten many years of faithful service out of my tc konnekt 24d; i assume the impact twin would be about the same. it looks like the same general deal but with a new case and some new features on the inside. [i, too, have an old tascam interface that won't even power up with any recently made ...

'Treme' series on HBO- NewOrleansGasm

for a work of dramatic televised fiction, this series is about as musically awesome as I can imagine a show being. i love all the cameos by real musicians, some of them oldskool NOLA fixtures and some of them way out in left field. there are some fun studio shots, too, that are reasonably representa...

Break Out Another Thousand ... heh... That said, I just had my first built-out garage stall studio fully demolished because we are redoing the whole garage roof and it was in the way. As soon as the "real" builders are gone, I'm totally going to build out another space with insulation and electric h...

if you haven't put yourself through a richard thompson phase yet, he has had a pretty good run of it over dozens of albums. he takes a bit of getting used to but the effort is absolutely worthwhile. you can go all the way back to fairport convention and then follow him up to the present day. he's st...

i didn't really clarify earlier: i think the recent wilco albums are perfect examples of beautifully recorded contemporary MOR music. pretty dull stuff. totally marketed towards grownups. not my cup of tea though. the robert plant-alison krauss album a few years ago left this same impression on me: ...
