Cool. I've really only heard good things so I'll probably upgrade myself soon, but until then if I can help my friend learn some more about editing and midi without looking stupid trying key-strokes that no longer work and whatnot that would be awesome.
Thanks.

PT 8 how much different than PT 7? key strokes, shortcuts?
Hey everyone who's using Pro Tools 8, I had a friend who has a very basic grasp of PT ask me to teach him how to get deeper into the program (editing, midi, drum synths/VIs, etc). The potential problem is that he upgraded to PT 8 and I haven't touched that upgrade yet. How different is the work flow...

Micachu, who I also happen to be going to see tonight. Can't wait. Her album, produced by Matthew Herbert, has been driving me crazy lately. So many amazing songs with so many amazing sounds.

We love having jazz guys come in. We did Gregg Skaff's last record with Charley Drayton, Darryl Jones and a bunch of other incredible dudes. They all seemed to dig it. Below I copy and pasted a reply to another post joelmoore made: - - - Matt Wells' place, One East Recording, is pretty awesome. (Ful...

Hey guys, Thanks for the replies. I was out on a short tour with my band for around 10 days. The guys with the sample rate suggestion had it right. It never occurred to me that the demos only went up to 48k and the session I was working on was 88.2k. I usually don't work at more than 48k when I have...

Massey plug-ins disappeared?
Has this happened to anyone else? :?: I was hoping to use the TapeHead demo I have on my current project and it's not showing up in my list of plug-ins. Actually all the Massey demos I have aren't showing up. I searched for them and they're still in the folders where all my other plug-ins reside but...

Matt Wells' place, One East Recording, is pretty awesome. (Full Disclosure: I work there for Matt semi-regularly) He doesn't really promote it much, all word of mouth really. The studio has been around for a while in a few different incarnations (Tin Pan Alley, etc.) but it's finally starting to pic...

Obviously depends on genre but two of my favorite reference mixes as of late are TV on the Radio's "Province" and the Dirty Projectors and David Byrne's "Knotty Pine". I think the low-end on Knotty Pine sits perfectly in the mix and Province is just amazing all-around. If I had to reference an album...

I've had my M Audio Fast Track Pro for a few years now and it's alright. While having the inserts (an RNC is small enough to lug around with it) and extra outputs is nice, i have occasionally run into problems with it like clocking issues - drop outs, clicks and whatnot. In my opinion the pres on it...

With one of the versions of M-Powered PT 7 they forgot to set limits on the I/O and you're able to use the full 32 I/O available on the ProFire. They fixed it on the very next version and every one since then but if you look around you can still find that particular version online. The downside is t...
