Watts going ohm?

Hey, all. I’m considering treating myself to a new pair of cans. I’ve been using Sennheiser HD 280s, which are 64 ohms, and am looking at a pair of Beyerdynamic DT 770s, which are available in 80 or 250 ohms. I will be using them with an Arturia AudioFuse Studio. I know that more ohms mean less volu...

Re: guituareg (North African inspired)

The only thing missing is the movie it should be the soundtrack for. Does soundtrack equate with wallpaper? I like it either way...

I've had a good result using an e609 as a crotch mic on a drum set. Anybody else ever do a crotch mic? It captures the bottom of the snare and the snap of the beater. I mixed it with a mono overhead. It added a lot of punch to the kit. I overdrove it with a compressor on a few tracks and it gave up ...

There are some real gems mixed in your lyrics. I really wish I had written 'On the Water' myself.

You've got a lot of my favorite things going on here and it?s a joy to listen to! That doesn't help your mix, but I'm not really on a good enough system to make any judgments, and my mixes are nothing to write home about anyway. Remind me after the record drops so I can get in on the ground floor.

It?s a double edged sword of course, and it won?t speed anything up, but bring ?em in. Not all at once, but just the guilty parties as you?re working on their individual parts. Think of it as educational. ?See that?s kinda why I didn?t want to put the kick mic there.? ?You know we probably could hav...

I?ve learned to wear all the hats pretty well except for one. The one where you crack the whip and get the artist off the couch. And it?s not exactly like I get a ton of fan mail asking when the new record is going to drop. That?s not me feeling sorry for myself either, that?s just the way things ar...

Reason seems like it might be a great idea for the next phase. The graphic nature or the drum sequencer, the virtual patch bay aspect, all of that plus the fact that you can use it within Garage Band. I?ll defiantly keep looking into this.

I hear you guys. I'm going to keep it simple for now to get everyone involved, and worry about keeping our advancing kids challenged when we get to that point.

Well Garage band certainly makes things simpler, and if we want to incorporate some singers, rappers and/or musicians into the tracks we are already there. I like it! I've had a few suggestions for Ableton and a controller, at least for some of our more advanced kids. This might help facilitate the ...

Advise me on loops and looping - do it for the kids!

I am fortunate enough to be tasked with putting together a music room/program for the residents of a residential treatment facility that I work at, ages 8 to 18. One thing I want to provide them with is software for them to create music based on collections of prerecorded loops. I believe that ease ...

My taste is impeccable and I love it. Good takes, good sound, good mix.

Do you mind sharing how you caught those acoustic guitars?
